Are we low-key tanking? Donnelly thinks we're half-tanking.

we are in luck, Morgan thought the 2023 roster was upgraded at all but one position from 2022.  He knows whats up

That is my fear. If they still think thay can compete with just a few tweeks nothing will change.

Early yet, but with the early rumblings of what they wanna target this offseason there's no way they think a couple tweaks is enough.  I'll happily eat crow if I'm wrong though.

The Replacements. I wouldn't mind if they just purged the lot of them save for a handful and pull from other teams practice squads to make a new roster for this season. It's time they do to the roster what they have been doing with the coaching staff.

It’s not a bad idea. Find some highly motivated players for cheap.

Stack picks and cap space.

End up with a few diamonds in the rough when it’s over.

We’ll know as soon as FA kicks off. If we stand pat and let the dust settle a while, that’s good. If we jump in early, we’ll know there will be another regime change in 2-3 years.

Agreed. Do just enough with Bryce to trade his midget ass and move on.

That milk is so spilt. His contract is fully guaranteed.

What the heck would it mean if you did trade a guy in that scenario?

I understand that if you cut him, simple. You are on the hook for all of it.

Is there any relief to be found at all for a team in a trade situation?

Just let me dream, family.

    • In May of 2026, it looks like a challenging schedule...and it probably is.  I rarely listen to the "strength of schedule" conversations that light up social media this time of year. Each year teams improve and decline. I think there's chunks of the year we need to take care of business and the week 5 bye is not desired.  I do think if we don't hit the bye week at 3-1, it's going to be a major uphill battle given the schedule in front of us. This season falls on three people, regardless of schedule strength: Canales, Bryce, Evero.  Canales: Finally can truly coach all aspects of the team and not focus with gameday prep for OC duties anymore. He drives the bus and needs to get these guys in position to win each week. There's no way vets come in and put it on the line every week to watch our QB sh!t the bed (See: SF game last year). Bryce: Despite everyone's obsession with thinking Bryce is a guaranteed extension, I think this year will truly be his "prove it" year. If he comes out the way he has the past three years, I really don't see how vets and coaches can continue to put him under center long-term. He might play out that fifth year as the starter, but I think next offseason his long-term replacement is found. I also think there's no excuses with the weapons and commitment we've made on offense to insulate him with every possible weapon.  Evero: Best personnel he's had since he's been here...no excuses. Figure out how to blitz effectively. Figure out how to use CBs whose strengths are press/man. Figure out how to utilize a talented front-7 to get the hell of the field. Outside of FS and maybe....maybe ILB, there are few weaknesses on this unit.
    • Canales can never get his teams ready in the first week of the season so far. Hope that changes or Ben Johnson is going to take his azz to school.
