The value of Pick #33 if traded

I don't think we need to make any more trades.

This is Bryce make or bust year. If he has another down season we are likely drafting his replacement next season. Draft him a good WR with pick 33. Now we have a new improved Oline and a better WR group. Pick 39 needs to be used on the defense imo.

I hear all this "4 QBs in the top 5 picks" but I'll be very surprised if it actually plays out like that.

They are also speculating that New England has so many needs, they will trade back for more picks with #3 overall--likely the Maye pick.  I just don't see how any team picking third in this draft walks away without a top QB.

I agree.  Personally, I think the first pick will go towards a WR that falls and I think the second pick goes towards a.....ILB.  I think they want Edgerin Cooper or Payton Wilson--whose injury history scares me.  I think Dan knows that this franchise has been successful when a stud MLB was in place.  Mills, Beason, Morgan, Luke--Morgan knows the value of a ILB and we have little depth there.  Next year, Shaq is likely gone.

They said that about 3 QBs in the top 5 last year and it happened. They said the same about a TE in the top 10 and the Falcons took Pitts top 5 or 6. I doubt it happens too, but never say never.

I’ve done several mocks with trades on. And I’ve noticed the last several I’ve done have had some pretty solid trade offers for that 33rd pick. It’s a definite possibility we get a really good haul for that pick. This draft is a great draft to have multiple picks in 2nd-4th round. I’m thinking we end up trading this pick.

Never say never but I don't think there have ever been four QBs taken in the top five. Ever.

You have to consider that a player will fall to us at 33 that they thought would be gone--then you have to think, "Is giving up on a first-round talent worth swapping a fourth for a third?"

Exactly!!! Every year going into round 2 the bpa always has about 5 guys that slid further than expected. This year has a ton of talent to be sitting there. Hard to pass until we see what's there.

    • I guess I should have stipulated outside the sacred cow.   I complained from year one that Bryce should compete for and win the starting job on his own merit but no he was just handed it. I have been right there with everyone that wants competition.  But I don’t really have a huge problem with it for this season the way it has gone because where are the viable people we don’t have to trade for? I actually am okay with tiny hands Pickett because he is so close to Bryce arm strength wise and to be honest, skill wise. Probably. And it is only a one year deal.  That also takes I to account that the QB class is looking stacked next year and if Young fails miserably then we get either a reset or a real competition and there will be more guys that I would like looking at in the FA QB class next year as well.    I sort of accept where we are this year and look at it as a treading water year. I just want to get to next year with some clarity. More than anything. And they did empty out the room. Again, who was really there for us?  And I know it would not be a true competition at this point anyway. They are giving him the year, like it or not.    Also I don’t give a poo about winning games IF he sucks and or goes down after sucking because draft position and that stacked QB class.  And I want out from under him So Bad.     So I guess it is several factors that lessen my anxiety over his backup this particular season.    I am not trying to convince anyone, but you asked.
    • What happened to King? Was he a no show?
    • think these smaller Qb's are going to have a much harder time convincing an NFL team to draft them. not saying a smaller Qb under 6 feet tall will not make an NFL roster .it will most likely be a UDFA contract more or less prove it deal.NFL teams have been burnt time & time again investing in these small NFL Qbs & i think  teams are now finally starting to realize that investing in these smaller Qb's under 6 feet tall is simply a bad idea  ...just saying
