Texans new uniforms. Past time for Panthers

Recommended Posts

We’ve stayed so close to our original with only one real restyling that it adds a nice level of consistency to the maddening inconsistency everywhere else in this org.

Just some minor tweaks every 5ish years is fine but we don’t need an overhaul…or else this is what happens.

Check out this fan mockup of what an update to those jerseys would look like:

What could have been.

The sad part is that fans with Photoshop often produce way better looking unis than teams with their massive redesign budgets and marketing firms.

Every time a team debuts new uniforms that try to be all "sleek" and "modern" they always end up looking dated within 5 years. See the Browns, Bucs and Jaguars re-designs from the mid-2010s. All three teams ended up changing back or to a new design by the end of the decade.

Then look at the most iconic uniforms in the league that have been roughly the same for decades: Steelers, Packers, Raiders, Cowboys, Giants, etc. The one common factor is simplicity.

Everyone wants to be the Oregon Ducks of the NFL. They should stop trying so hard to fix what's not broken.

It's cos they're designed by committee.

Texans and Broncos updates were turrible.

Broncos throwbacks, though, were a thing of beauty. Should be their primaries.

When you have a classic uniform like this, I feel like you should embrace it.  For example, I really felt like the Seahawks should have done that in 2012 vs going with that monstrosity they went with.

But I'm a sucker for simple, classic uniforms.

This would be the worst time to change uniforms because demand for Panthers gear is low because we suck.  Business wise, it would be smarter to wait until after we have at least one good season that makes fans happy and excited for the future.  That is when they will be more likely to buy the new jerseys you are selling.

Yeah they still got Darnold jerseys to get rid of

It actually makes good business sense.  People will buy because it's their team and it's a new uni, then when the team is good they will by the good players.  If they wait till they're good you don't get the double dip

Am I the only one that preferred the original Panther logo? It actually looked like it fit with the rest of the league.

And what could we change with the jerseys that wouldn't make them look tacky or too basic?

With current trends & the type of consultants that would be hired--they likely take the silver out, reduce the shoulder stripe, and it would have this over-simplified bland look to it.

I think our all blacks with the classic helmet is the best look and is sharp as hell.  Those are great--and then I associate the team w/ the all-white as those are the most worn and look fine.

It's fairly timeless.  The longer we hold, the more trends will come back around to our styling and we can pass over the current fads.  I do wonder if they'd ever explore an alternative logo but meh.

    • Underhill, it was beiong discussed At The Time. The lack of deep balls. One reason Dalton got hit, yes, was standing in and delivering a deep ball. It’s just a lot quicker to say wake the fug up where have you been.
    • I don’t see how a pro could miss stuff that took me 15 minutes to see. Never understood how they could not see it.
    • When a certain food allows it, add vinegar to it if you are a dietetic. Research has shown that vinegar inhibit starch digestion and allows food to stay in the stomach longer. In turn, this helps to reduce the chances of your blood glucose levels from rising after you have eaten a meal. If you have Gestational Diabetes then the concept of "eating for two" needs to be forgotten. You'll need to reduce your food intake to small amounts every few hours to keep your blood glucose levels in check over the long term of a day. Don't forget to have a snack before bed to control overnight blood sugar! To make sure your family understands your needs, take the time to explain diabetes to them. Discussing your condition with them will give them valuable knowledge they can use to help you in a crisis. It will also make them aware of things they can do to help. You may even find that talking about your diabetes is very cathartic.
