Why is no one considering double dip at WR?

Thielen is running on E and we really dont know what Johnson has left in the tank he didnt light it up last year at all. ISM is not the sam caliber wr as anyone there in the second round. Mingo could well be another LSU wr bust who shall not be named. best not to depend on whats on the roster now in a historically deep wr class thats strong at one of our biggest weaknesses.

Yeah I want to take one, just not necessarily two guys in the 30's if BPA is at a different position. I'm cool with taking another WR at 65 or in the 100's if 33/39 is BPA elsewhere. The same argument can be made for CB or Edge rusher, there's a lot more WR's than CB's and Edge guys in this draft so if one of those is BPA in the 30's it would be hard to pass up

It’s really the only one that matters. No raw 2nd round edge rusher is going to do much in the grand scheme of things for us. CB? Sign Gilmore if it’s that big of a deal

This organization needs to find out what they have in Bryce this season. They absolutely should be double dipping at WR. If Bryce ain’t it then at least the next guy has a fighting chance

This is an offensive league. You’re never going to have a complete team. You’re always going to have a weakness. Every year the league changes rules in hopes of more points being scored. Our offense was downright awful last year and people still want to spend picks on defense… I don’t get it.

Probably because half of our starting defence was traded and / or walked in FA.

No room to take two WR's IMO, with Mingo and ISM locked up for next year. We need the center, LB, CB, or edge more.

think your confusing jags for franchise or game changing players. What did Mingo or ISM do last year to show you they can elevate bryce young to be on par with Stroud or even Richardson for that matter? Nothing..  you can't go into the season saying hey we got ISM and Mingo we are ready to roll.

No room? We have the league’s worst offense We got zero long term offensive skill position players on the roster.  We have a huge investment we are trying to save at QB.  Fixing the O should be priority 1, 2 and 3.

Mingo and ISM combined for 450 yards and no TDs.  And there is no guarantee they are better next year.

the highlights to our roster are a WR that can’t run and had really bad per touch production we forced the ball to and a disgruntled WR the rest of the league didn’t want…..whose former team has a track record of getting rid of dudes who fall off a cliff after doing so.

we got room

ISM won’t stop us from drafting a 2nd WR if value is there. Honestly we are probably carrying an extra WR with the new kickoff rule.

Yep, past 2 years combined he doesn’t even have 70 rec yards added up.  He is a body with a pulse.

the offense was so bad and so predictable that a surprise end around run a couple times has some folks thinking this dude is legit.   The math ain’t mathing.

We need great players period and we are void on both sides of the ball. I would rather have an above average DE/CB than a below average WR. I do hope the BPA is a WR though.

no one in that room is good enough reason for us not to draft 2 good WRs from this class who could be long term contributors.

    • Evero to the Raiders makes zero sense unless the OC he's pitching them is a failed HC who doesn't have interest in trying for it again. They're a team about to draft a QB #1 overall, developing him is job #1 for the new coach/staff.  Hiring a DC with a young up and coming OC wouldn't make any sense, because then you risk losing that OC to a HC job after maybe just a year or two and that young QB has to change system, play caller, etc. It's why hiring an offensive minded coach makes the only sense.  The Raiders have to make the right hire/pick with this HC hire and #1 pick combo because of that division they're in, it's a gauntlet and you can't screw up this opportunity.
    • 1. Sadly, it's just too early to tell with Icky. And the draft will have come and gone before we have anything, FA, too probably. Njiman was good, but there's dollars to be invested there as well. This is really our biggest puzzle to figure out. And Moton on the other flank is getting long in the tooth, too.  2. Coker: Pay the man WR2 money.  3. Most WRs take three years before you really know what you've got. We'll know for sure by the end of this one and he's still on a relatively inexpensive rookie contract. Now if someone comes calling for a good, good trade... 4. This is the make or break for good teams vs bad teams. And depth development is essential. We've had a bit of that but there isn't a spot on our line that doesn't have worries except for maybe on guard.  5. I think you draft the best ILB, the smartest one in the first round and don't look back. People lost their poo here on this board when we "wasted" a pick on Luke Kuechly.  6. Yeah, I think Chuba is a workhorse. But we need to be more decisive in his use. Still not sure Rico doesn't come back next season, too. He'll get to see the marketplace first, though, and we'll offer similar numbers to him.
    • I've grown to enjoy Mike & Tripp, even more so after listening to the ESPN, TNT, TBS hacks who, for whatever reason, seemingly don't know dick about the Canes.
