Is Young the worst #1 pick in NFL history?

Yes he is, even though I hesitated because the NFL has a long history and I don't recall all the picks.

Then I realized that the long history doesn't matter because in the olden days, all they used were their eyes to make the pick. Eventually they got to scales and rulers and should have stopped there and even then they maybe went too far.

Football is not a scholars game for MIT students. Never has been, never will be. The only numbers that matter are the jerseys and the score. Teams keep outsmarting themselves with all this data and ignore their eyes.

Back to basics. Biggest, strongest, fastest. That's it. Processors are overrated...this is football, not physics.

    • I like Charles Lee from a personal standpoint but in terms of perfomance man this franchise has LOW standards. Borrego all over again.
    • They probably pulled him off Panther coverage so he didn't ask Canales a stupid question about his past and tying it into the Vrabel situation.
    • If they all are elite, that is over half the defense. Just get competent in the other 5 slots and sit back and enjoy. Scott, I know… but I worry about Wallace being a liability maybe most of all. And again, the learning curve in regards to everyone knowing their job and where they need to be. And trusting that your teammates are reliable on that count.  To me, more than the talent level, the question is how fast can they all mesh as a team? I wouldn’t be surprised if it took a few weeks to tighten it all up.
