I hope i’m missing something- that’s a deal i’d expect for moving David Moore not. our #1. Did we call and offer that to get rid of him, cuz that’s not the deal you take if someone’s calling you …?!?

watch the ravens draft an all-pro player with the 6th round pick while the panthers draft a 26 year old D3 safety with the 5th rounder that gets cut the season after

That seems like the way these things go for us.

But I would bet they knew Diggs was down and other stuff. Knowing nothing really about how long this deal was in the works, but people knew that if they waited we probably would cut him loose and it was for free then.

We have seen the damaged goods and everybody knows it before and it does normally go badly for the seller.

Morgan made some decent bargains in his draft trading, I am going 'benefit the doubt' this one and say he likely did try to get more elsewhere and that was it.

Again, we gave Pittsburgh a 5th and got back a 7th in the DJ for DJ swap. The 5th we got from Baltimore is cancelled by the 5th we gave Pittsburgh.

So we really got a 7th for Diontae, Donte and a 6th.

Not sure why you're saying we gave Pittsburgh a 5th, we gave them a 6th, pick #178 to be exact which they used to draft Logan Lee.  I don't need mental gymnastics, picks don't cancel each other out, they become real people.  Michael Jackson is a real person on this roster.

What we gave is: Donte Jackson, 2024 #178 (became Logan Lee), Diontae Johnson, 2025 6th and 9.3 million dollars.

What we received is: 2024 #240 -> Michael Barrett -> Michael Jackson, 2025 5th, and 7 games played by Diontae Johnson as a Panther.

they would have been better off keeping him.

could’ve at least gotten a more honest appraisal of Canales offense, how Legette plays against against single coverage, and a no excuses sink or swim card for whomever they have at QB

we’re just in the business of helping guys out.

heck, I'd rather Morgan of just cut him and called him a toxic bum on his way out.   Screw him right back if he was being problematic at his redemption stop.  Screw trading him for for that.

I didn't expect much.  But a pick swap? Morgan couldn't even negotiate a 6th on it's own?

Reminds of that clip of Morgan trying to trade Burns that was caught on camera.  If that's his sales technique....he should hire someone to do it for him.

    • when we drafted Bryce Young that team might have been more talented than the team we currently have ?  that was the whole reasoning behind morgagting  our immediate future to trade up to #1 overall for BY. our front offices & owners felt like hey guess what the time is now to srike while the iron is hot go hire an All Star coaching staff we were only a Qb away from taking that next step ..just saying
    • I just dont get the worry over losing a practice squad player that just went undrafted. Everyone just made their selections. The chances of a team wanting to sign him to an active roster after not selecting him is very low.  If that interested they would have taken him late to evaluate in person. As far as I can tell two qbs were signed off another teams practice squad last season and they were both going in to their 5th season.
    • I enjoyed reading this thread and the usual banter that follows. The only silver lining I can identify right now is we do actually have a couple of young QB's behind him and we do have a nice roster on both sides of the ball built around the most important position. So if the team overall shows some promise but we still falter largely due to a lack of consistent passing output (again) hopefully the decision makers can be free to make the best decision for the team going forward after the conclusion of this upcoming season.
