Legette is killing us

I understand he’s a rookie. And he was a late bloomer in college also. But he’s having back breaking drops every single week. He had an awful one today that would have set us up with a first down in TB territory, and there was another third down play that while it wasn’t a drop he easily could have made a play on the ball and he just let a defender knock it away.

This is not me giving up on him. But when rookies that were taken just picks after him are the focal point of playoff offenses I think it’s fair that we start bringing this up. We can’t keep giving him a pass because of his funny accent

He’s got work to do but you grossly underestimate his funny accent, that’s worth another 2 years at least.

He can speak yiddish for all I care, as long as he starts showing big play ability. Interesting that he chose Devin Funchess's old number... honestly, that's who he plays like. I'm not bashing the kid, I honestly see good potential in him, but he does need to show some HR threat. That's why we drafted him where we did. What is his longest play so far... just curious? Does he have more than one?

This. He has come a long way in just a couple years.  I believe he has the work ethic to become a really good reciever.

XL does have the work ethic and we're going to see a whole lot of Dolla Bill over the next few years. This franchise gave Jonathan "craptastic" Mingo three years.  Legette is already outplayed him..

    • Unfortunately you just can't get through to some of these folks. The most successful season in Panthers history our #1 WR was Ted Ginn Jr who had just as many bone headed drops as he did highlight touchdowns. We already have the highest paid OL in the league two years running. We need a balanced roster more than anything else clearly.

I think it would be like getting two for the price of one really allowing us to feel more holes getting a wide receiver and another spot filled for nothing but two or three draft spots.
    • I saw a mock draft where Monroe Freeling falls to the Panthers at 19 and if that happens they'd better rush their card to the podium.
