Its not about hitting him while sliding, its about him launching himself and raising his forearm into the head and neck.  That made it go from borderline bad hit to suspension.  Without that, it would have just been a 15 yard penalty.  And yeah, I do feel that Cam would have gotten the same treatment.  In truth, I feel that a running back would have gotten the same treatment although the running back wouldn't be sliding.    But launch yourself at a rb and lead with the forearm to the head and neck area, and that is about as clear a violation of the rules as possible.

Repeat offender who does dirty stuff like this all the time. I wish he got more, players like him are why we have the stupid rules we do on defense and why Mahomes can act like he’s trotting OOB then jog for another 20 yards cause nobody can touch him.

we take hits like that out of the game, we can probably roll back some of the softness that’s introduced itself to the game past 10 years

Man up they protect these soft ass QB's.

Cam got his head took off in the SB and nobody was screaming for him. Different league now so it is what it is.

In the 90's this is a non story.

Even the Broncos fans I was watching with were calling BS. The league sent a clear message Cam was not going to be the face of the NFL and Peyton was going out a winner.

Talib said he was trying to injure Philly Brown and got a 25k fine and NO players got a year suspension.

It's not soft. It's rigged.

You know how I know you're wrong? It's been a decade and it still gets talked about on here often.

    • Could do better could do worse. I've seen some people very indignant over bringing him back and I can absolutely relate to the sentiment. But it's just in a backup role. He's also a good locker room presence and an effort player so for a 1 year rental in a year where we aren't going to do much it's fine. This is a development year. And there will be options if need be at the trade deadline. Besides at the end of the day we all knew a signing like this was around the corner after how drafting Mark Williams ended. He should have been our franchise center for the next several years. I don’t put that failure on the Hornets.
    • No one is upset.  And what I referred has been happening.   Patrick Mahomes has an offseason basketball clause in his contract.  A ton of other physical activites like jet skiing, baseball and all sorts of physical activities are written into his contract.  XL likely already has ATVs and stuff written into his contact.  League already has been inserting a lot of that stuff into basic contracts for non-top tier players and we have seen it pan out.
    • A payment for future production, puts him a cane for 9 seasons.
