Hot Take: This team will never get over the hump, until we move on from Bryce.

Ah yes back to the keep swinging until you get an elite QB is the strategy of decades long loser franchises like Jets and Browns who have proven that even when you do have a good or great QB you likely won’t even know it because you lack the program culture and strategy to be successful .

Chasing QBs never works. How many QBs have the Jets and Browns drafted and failed miserably?  Bengals didn’t know Burrow would be this good (many were skeptical of his one great year at LSU, or Ravens with Lamar, Chargers with Herbert, and especially Bills with Allen.  A bad franchise would have cut ties with Allen after his first 16-25 games when he looked terrible.

You could call it luck and that’s not a strategy.  Tepper thought he could play god and create his own luck by outsmarting everyone else and it’s failed miserably. He seems to have finally humbled himself and hopefully understand that it’s most important to build the right culture and build a roster with an actual program philosophy of what you want the team to be.  you focus on evaluating talent, drafting well including QBs, and ensure it’s a developmental environment where good becomes great, and great can become elite.

It is not time to cut ties with Bryce, you have to at least give it another year, maybe draft another prospect in later rounds if they’re BPA and continue to build.  As others have said it’s been 10 years since we knew what a hump even looks like and we’re not even close to it.

This ^ 100 percent.

The last few seasons we've seen unprecedented Qb play. Allen, Jackson,  MaHomes, Burrow to name few. We move up to 1# to pick a micro Teddy Bridgewater. Burrow had at least 250 yards and 3 Tds the last 8 games ,and over 400 tonight.  Y'all get giddy if Bryce throws over 100 yards.  This is unacceptable in today's NFL.

Face the facts, we need to move on.

Bro find another team. You make the fanbase look bad. Go root for your elite QB. Nobody is forcing you to stay here and watch Bryce.

Prime Cam did more with less, so don't give me that no weapons crap.

and his career was cut short because of it. By the time he finally got a really good core of weapons around him in 2018 his shoulder was shot, and it was a ticking time bomb before the TJ Watt hit the hit from Watt just sealed his faith.

Cam was the most physically imposing QB that the league has ever seen and instead of trying to build around him and give him the pieces he needed to succeed long term this organization used it as a crutch for their own roster mismanagement and team building incompetence.

The jury is still out on if Bryce can be the QB long term but the primary goal of this organization should still be setting Bryce up for the best chance to succeed.

Hot take every QB would struggle with Thielen as thier No1

Thielen isn't the problem, maybe the other WRs, so your point missed the target.   Dalton looked bad once Adam got injured.  When he came back a month later and Bryce was the QB, the passing game got better.

Even if you're in the swing for elite qb till you get one.  What swing could they take this offseason.  There is no better potential option than Bryce for next season.

Agreed.  But this made me think of Bears drafting Caleb when they had Justin Fields or Jets drafting Wilson when they had Darnold.  In both cases these teams gave up  too early.

Thielen is not the problem but the point is he’s our best receiver and would be #3 at best on good teams.

    • Bryce among the 7 players Mark Ross of NFL.com guarantees will get better this season. Today, I am identifying seven players who I guarantee will improve on their 2024 output in the 2025 season. Young took tremendous strides in 2024 after returning to the starting lineup in Week 8 following his benching. He looked far more comfortable in his return and produced with consistency, as he threw for 2,104 yards with 15 TDs and six INTs in the final 10 contests. Most important perhaps is Young's confidence grew immensely down the stretch, leading Carolina to either a game-tying or game-winning drive in six of those games. Now he enters his second season in Dave Canales' system with his best supporting cast to date. The Panthers drafted wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan eighth overall to pair with Adam Thielen and Xavier Legette, who I also believe is poised for a breakout campaign this fall. The 18th-ranked rushing attack from a year ago added Rico Dowdle to complement Chuba Hubbard, giving the team a pair of 1,000-yard rushers. The Panthers have taken the necessary steps to ensure Young's third season will be the best of his career, and now it's up to him to not only continue to grow as a player but prove why he was worthy of being taken No. 1 overall in 2023. I believe that's what he will do. https://www.nfl.com/news/which-nfl-players-will-improve-in-2025-c-j-stroud-deebo-samuel-among-guaranteed-risers
    • While it's fair to question how impactful a player's relationship with a coach is (especially if someone has questions regarding said coach), it's important to also evaluate the difference between the players here. Jordan Fuller was pick #199 in the 6th round while Justin Simmons was #98 in the 3rd round. Jordan Fuller might have gotten a Super Bowl ring while he was with the Rams, but he got it while on the IR. Justin Simmons, on the other hand, is a x2 Pro-Bowler (2020, 2023), x4 second-team All-Pro (2019, 2021 - 2023), and was the NFL co-leader in INTs (2022). Simmons has also fallen off in the last couple of seasons though, grade-wise. He very well might not be that same player, which could be why the Falcons have elected to replace him with Fuller. As far as getting the best out of what he has, asking him to produce with a starting DL of A'Shawn Robinson (63.56% of the defense's snaps), LaBryan Ray (51.48%), and Shy Tuttle (50.08%) isn't reasonable. Wonnum only played in 8 games, but had the second most % of snaps (37.27%) at EDGE behind Clowney (53.53%). The second-string DL based on snap % was... and don't read this if you just ate... Charles Harris (34.48%), DeShawn Williams (27.67%), and Nick Thurman (19.7%). The second-string EDGEs based on snap count would be DJ Johnson (32.27%) and Cam Gill (18.14%). With the investments made in the run defense this season though, especially on the defensive line, it's more than fair to demand a complete turn around from last season.
