According to this, things are getting worse.

Personally, saying farewell to Ian Thomas and Miles Sanders should be seen as positives.

Austin Mock's 2024 projection model was... interesting.

Rico Dowdle, a 1,000-yard rusher, is an improvement on Miles Sanders. Bobby Brown is much better than Shy Tuttle, who actually stayed on the roster. Tershawn Wharton is probably better than A'Shawn Robinson, or he's at least as good. Tre'Von Moehrig is better than Xavier Woods, or again at least as good.

Somehow, that doesn't quite add up to an improved roster per the model.

I like this, every time we are dubbed to win the preseason it gets worse. Also there isn’t really much room for things to get worse…don’t see it happening.

Like the past several years averages like 4 wins or so? So we are talking getting worse like 3 wins instead of 4? What a catastrophe lol

Actually being worse seems highly unlikely.

Only improving marginally however is a very real possibility with this franchise. If you know the Panthers in and out then you know this. How many offseasons have we "won" in the past? Can't blame anyone for wanting to see results first. That's just the reputation that has been created under this ownership.

The goal of building a team is to find complementary parts which when put together are greater than their individual parts alone. Each year the team is different based on its composition and how well they work together. Just the fact that the offensive players have a year in the system as well as Canales has a year of experience as head coach will make them better. And how do you make the worse defense in history worse by adding upgrades at several positions. Brown being back alone is worth a few less points surrendered.

No, we are going to be improved this year. How much is up for debate.

    • Bet didn't hit because the referee missed 3 clear corner kicks. I had a 5k parlay that would have been alive tomorrow if he didn't miss those calls as well. Super annoying
    • We all love to see the lob threat but there's gotta be a solution here if LaMelo is to be the centerpiece because this is simply not sustainable if we want to continue to ascend. If he can't drive to the basket then that means we need to add another player to the core who can. That would require moving someone like Miles Bridges. And that's certainly not going to be popular with LaMelo but something has to give here for what we are investing and we need to maximize guys like Miller and Knueppel on rookie deals while we still can. The three chucking is fine when it's working where the issue comes into play is there are no adjustments when it isn't and we just go into a shell and begin to look like the Hornets of yesteryear. That's why the offensive evolution of all involved is critical to us taking the next step. Getting to the play in is nice but we should have our sights set much higher. Right now though they need to take care of business against the Heat. All I ask is that they at least beat those fools. I cannot stand the Heat.
    • Yes. However there are other options.
