It could make sense, but I don't know who it would be if we're talking QB. I just don't see the Steelers trading up that far, it's not in their blood. I strongly feel they're angling for Milroe or Dart, and will be patient.  No need to get aggressive for those guys.  Other teams won't have an issue letting the Saints pick Sanders haha.  

Our best shot is 1 of Campbell/Membou (or maybe it could even be Banks) are available & a team like SF or SEA with a boatload of picks and OL needs makes the trade.  Or it's Jeanty and the Bears/Cowboys/etc. really want him. 

Put yourself in other team's shoes - no one else is worth trading up for.  This draft is Carter, Hunter, & Jeanty...then a huge field (25+) of late-1st/early-2nd round talent.   

If anything, it's the OL scenario.  Seattle or SF are the perfect spots - move into the teens, add a 2nd, and a future pick (at min)

The only Shedeur options I see would be CLE (we get 33 & next year's 1st minimum) for 8 or NYG and we get 34, 99 and 2026 1st type package.

All options should be on the table. Always.

I never loved Gettleman's probably ego driven stunt of running the pick up immediately to show everyone how confident you are of your decision. If the phone is ringing I'm listening. Yeah, you may really like a prospect available but someone on the other end of the line might like someone available to the point that they're willing to do something stupid to get him. Now granted, working against us is the reality that our owner is the poster child for that person on the other end of the line but that aside, yeah we should always listen if offers are coming in and there's time on the clock to hear them.

Time to play some 4D chess and do our homework on Sanders.

If we do that and don't believe he's a franchise QB (which I personally don't think he is), then we need to bluff someone else trying to trade up into our spot and just get the Saints to give us additional picks to swap with us.

We saddle them with a QB who is going to hurt the franchise for a few years while we still get to draft whoever we wanted at 8 while picking up more draft capital.

Helps us, hurts a divisional opponent.

If we picked the best player at any position (outside of QB, HB, OL,) it would immediately improve our team. And, dropping down doesn't guarantee we'd pick the right guy in the 1st round or with the extra draft choice acquired in the trade.

I can see maybe going from 8 to 12, but no further than 15. Even going to 15 would bother me b/c that means Carolina would miss out on 7 blue chip players before they're on the clock.

I don’t trust them picking the right guy at 8 either

This is how I see it. Too many people assume it's easy to trade down, but in order to do that someone is going to have to be willing to trade up and part with valuable draft capital in the process.

If some of those (25) 1st/2nd players start slipping out of their projected rounds/projected slot, then I'd understand trying to trade up and grab someone before the 3rd round.

I  just feel like even if the Panthers traded back they would at some point still trade back up 

like last  year they traded up to draft their first 2 picks  .if this team likes a player they do not patiently wait on him it's not in their DNA to trade back & be patient

      Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates

      This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
