General Draft Rumors/Speculation Thread

Feels like the draft doesn't start until #5 and then it's madness.

1. TEN - QB Ward
2. CLE - CB/WR Hunter
3. NYG - EDGE Carter
4. NE - OT Campbell
5. JAX - OT Membou/DT Graham/TE Warren/Trade
6. LV - RB Jeanty/DT Graham/LB Walker/Trade
7. NYJ - TE Warren/DT Graham/LB Walker/OT Membou/Trade

Good chance of Warren, Graham, and Walker all being available when the Panthers get to the podium. Not a bad problem to have... especially if any of those guys have a team that's head over heels for them and willing to overpay to move up.

Apparently, the Jags are toying with the idea of trading Etienne and taking Jeanty at #5. If they're trying to get Chicago to hop up to #5 so that they can take Warren at #10 and grab additional picks then that ain't too shabby.

Are the Browns really willing to start the season with Flacco or Pickett and get a QB late in the draft to sit for a year or 2? Don't be surprised if they don't take Sanders at #2 and create some chaos at the top.

Depends on how much they like Sanders. If he isn't the guy, wait a year and build elsewhere.

This year feels like the '23 draft for qb's.  Slim pickin's this year but a potential haul for '26 in Manning, Lamaleava, Alar, Nussmeir, and Klubnik. One of those guys will poop the bed in '26 but some unknown will take his place. I would build my line and wr corp and worry about the qb in '26.

still holding out for Warren TBH. Just not really sold on anybody else in the top 10

I'm with you on Warren.  No doubt we need defensive help everywhere.  But there isn't a defensive player other than Carter (who won't be there) that would impact the game like Warren would.  Not to mention he would be a huge security blanket for Bryce who currently has a bunch of nobodies and Thielen to throw to.

Sadly, we are 10-12 players, and at least 2 years away from being remotely competitive, so as long as we get the pick right (impact starter) I don't really care what position it is.

I could see them taking someone like Dart or Shough at #33. But honestly, taking Shedeur Sanders #2 overall would be very on brand for the Cleveland Browns.

I've thought bout  them as doing that fr. Especially  when Myles Garrett spoke on having a Qb.

They going to do similar to what the Seahawks did with Wilson. Go back and get your QB in the 2nd/3rd.

I am not sure really the scenario where that isn't an insane D-bag move.

I cannot imagine why anyone would want to play for him after that.

Something had to trigger a D-bag move. It's usually something of equal D-baggery. Something like that doesn't come out of nowhere.

    • No saying he mostly sucks is saying that he doesn’t suck the minority of the time.   Like if he took 17 tests and had a couple of really good showings and a handful of pretty good scores sprinkled in among the typical sub par results.   Like a golfer who went out and shot an 89.  There will be some real nice shots sprinkled in there but at the end of the day it is still 89.
    • It's worth mentioning... Game 1: Oct 11 in Raleigh. 4-3 OT win with a complete starting lineup. Game 2: Dec 13 in Philly. 4-3 SO win without Jaccob Slavin. Game 3: Dec 14 in Raleigh. 3-2 SO win with a complete starting lineup. Game 4: Apr 13 in Philly. 3-2 SO loss with the AHL roster.  Those early season games were no indication of the Canes team that finished the season. Miller and Ehlers were still trying to figure things out, Nikishin was still a work in progress and the Stankoven line was just another line. Make no mistake, the Canes team Philly will see is nothing close to what they saw at any point in the season. If the top line starts producing, Freddie stays hot and the blue line does what it does, this could be a sweep as well.
