if you want to be successful at the draft you have to always take BPA .if not we (Panthers) would have for example never drafted a HOF LB by the name of Luke Keuchly.

&, why do you often see the exact same teams picking at the top of the draft year in & year out year after year like clock work doing the exact same thing by ignoring BPA & instead drafting for need/fit often times never really seem to find the right players to assemble a winning football team with

if Jalon Walker is who the Pats think is BPA at #4 then that is most defenitely who they need to draft at #4 ...just saying

BPA is a lie and I wish we'd stop talking about it like there's a universal power ranking for the draft class. It's meaningless because "best" and "need" are both highly subjective team by team. Most media big boards had Fletcher Cox ahead of Luke.

The good teams have the luxury of low stakes picks and incrementally upgrading the roster because they don't really have needs. The bad teams have needs at critical positions that are hard to draft, as we well know.

Best description yet. It doesn't exist and it is completely subjective process.

But Fletcher Cox is likely HOF bound. Kinda splitting hairs with those 2.

Yes BPA is a myth. Certain positions will always be weighted.

I don't understand the smoke with the Pats and Jags, #1-#3 is cemented, they can have pretty much who they want.  Nobody is moving inside the top 10 this year.  Senseless scuttlebutt by media types for clicks.  The Pats a taking an OT to protect their QB.  The Jags need help everywhere, so it might be Graham or it may be offense.

Sounds more like the pats want the Panthers to panic and try to move up to four to get Jalon Walker so that they can move back and still get their offensive tackle at 8. I don't buy it.

Agreed. But I’m glad we’re not them. The Pats winning their last game of the season playing their backup QB, which knocked them out of the top 3 in a draft where there’s only 3 elite prospects is brutal. Now they have to settle for a LT with short arms that will have to be an outlier to have success at his position. This is a pure example of why losing on purpose in the last few weeks  is sometimes not a bad idea.

Honestly it might work to their favor. They desperately need OL help. This way they aren't tempted to take Carter or Hunter and they'll do what they should and just take their choice of the OT crop.

    • Not sure how much he was a long term piece of this team.   Sucks to not have him as part of the rotation.   Looks like it's Lee Hunter time.
    • This post was an error. Oops and sorry for the errors in the previous one. Too slow to edit.   We’ll see what they do.
    • I am not sure he will put the over the games but we’ll probably have them.   Two things I am thinking.  We have 4 preseason games.  All the coaches have enough service time to know the standards that are in place for decades. If I recall it was play your starters just a series to start woth and build it up until week theee where play a lot and you have week four to set hour roster. Evaluate before cuts.   Bevell will certainly have the whole thing down pat.   I’d they don’t do the fries and frie air will worry too. Because it is set up to do that.     I have said since they went t three preseason people have to figure a new way are still feeling it out and trying things.  We don’t have to this year.
