It definitely sounds like it so far. Rams, Falcons announced they won’t be playing most starters. Browns don’t know who QB1 is so i think most will play, obviously don’t expect myles g. Out there or other stars, but they should play some starters.

I'm pretty sure McVay has been sitting his starters for a long time. That's his thing.

Man I don’t think we are going to be particularly good, but this does feel like we have an actual NFL roster for the first time in a while.

Sounds like Canales may be running a playbook from the business book THE CULTURE CODE, which describes how to create self-functioning, well-producing teams of people.  Ex: there's a chapter about how the Spurs coaching staff worked their team into (at the time) one of the winningest teams in the NBA

(really short version? "Improve the mindset, improve relationships: get better results")

Hate to say it but I feel like our kicking game is going to be atrocious this upcoming season. Have a bad feeling that the kicker position will haunt us also season long.

I will be very pleased if we are consistently losing games due to kicking and not other issues.

Frankly, I would be floored.

I have heard the Spurs mentioned in a lot of the motivational content I consume.  Might be a good read.

Reading Arnold's book Be Useful right now, though.

it's like taking in the Tmac highlight of the great catch down the sideline.....as he is still largely blanketed by a dude that shouldn't be on the field covering a teams "#1".  How hype can I get.....and the one real question about Tmac is can he separate from NFL DBs.

Hopefully the Browns play there starters.  That's what I want to see.

Yea its kind of worrisome that you mostly hear about Jackson and a udfa cb blanketing tmac so far.   Everyone including the local sports media keeps saying hes looking good though so who knows what we are missing i guess..

There's literally nothing they can do during preseason that will make me buy in. Win in September, and then maybe I'll begin to get excited.

And even then my excitement would be very tempered. We have had like 4 seasons under Tepper where we had a winning record within the first 5ish games and then some epic collapses…

To be fair, Jackson isn't a slouch... he's a very capable db...a little inconsistent but he's a talented corner nonetheless. He's not an all pro but he's imo he's slighty above the average.

I've been trying to keep my hope levels down as I've experienced the past 6-7 seasons but this just feels different and I think the feeling in the building is the same. I'm not saying we're going to the playoffs but again if our defense is two TD's allowed better a game then we're more than likely playoff team... but that's granted our QB stays on his incline and healthy. Im an optimist anyway.

We had historically the worse D in history and still won 5 games. Hell, if we were one TD allowed better last season we would have hit 8 wins. Now factor in an improved offense, an easier schedule, a weak division, a improved defense with 5-6 new "proven" starters(not counting the rookies) and it's easy to see why people are slowly starting to hop on the bandwagon...on paper that is.

My only question is Canales's lack of the run game. Kinda seemed like we would get Chubba running then abandon the game plan every week.

Yeah, baby. Steal of the draft.

I kinda think Scourtin will end up being the steal and the more complete end. It will probably take a couple years to manifest but I still think he was the #2-3 best DE in the '25 draft. And to be honest, coming into last season an argument could be made for #1 consideration.... moreso if he would have stayed at Purdue. He should not have made it to the 2nd round.

I also think by the end of next season, Morgan will be known for his drafting. Last draft he netted us 3-4 starters not counting Brooks. This year he'll probably end up with the same amount. 6-7 starters in two drafts is crazy.
