Not really concerned about it if Renfrow is good to go. Coker is the more direct Theilen replacement but for a Bryce type QB a guy like Renfrow's seems perfect. A guy who can get open immediately and can do a little something after the catch

I'm trying to stay positive on it. Crazy going from out of the league, cut, to starting W1

Tbh, I feel like AT’s strongest attribute was his leadership, presence, and in-game knowledge which includes helping everybody on offense know what they’re doing and looking at.  Yes, he out up surprisingly good numbers considering how much slower he looked here compared to his prime years in Minny.  But in terms of his ability to get open, I don’t think we lose anything going to Renfrow in that role.  If anything, in terms of ability, if Renfrow can hold up, I think he’s a more explosive version of AT.  My only real concern is what we lost in on-field coaching from AT.

AT was basically Greg Olsen-ish for Bryce.  In so many ways.  He was keeping stuff on right page and really more of small TE than actual slot WR out there.

Canales isn’t going to be able to just insert Hunter into that role on the O that AT was doing.   Hunter is a true slot WR.  And a niche one at that.    Might take some time to try to figure out plays/calls really insert Renfrow into.  Thats not really Canales’ base what Hunter does so well

Which is why I'm honestly glad he's gone. That's nothing against Thielen. He was everything we signed him to be. But Bryce Young wasn't a guy drafted for his immense physical talent. He was drafted because he's supposed to be a QB football savant. So let's see it. Take away the training wheels doing it for him and let's see it.

I mean you can sugarcoat it any way you choose but he wanted to go to Minny to play with a guy that has never started in the nfl.

why you want to argue this point is quite perplexing.  It was never going to end well for the panthers once AT wanted out

"It's kinda hard, when I sit Adam Thielen down in my office and he is just really wanting to go there and he's pretty adamant that 'this is what I want, this is where I want to go,' I didn't really want to stand in his way," Morgan told Kyle Bailey of WFNZ radio in Charlotte. "It was something that he was really convicted about. He wanted to go and finish his career there. Obviously he's from there, he has a house there, he has young kids. There's a human side to it, too."

No one cares about facts anymore but I appreciate the effort here. A 4th was a great return in this situation. That is incontrovertible but it will be debated ad nauseam anyway.

I don’t care. Morgan should not care either. We got a 4th it wasn’t like we got a haul. You stay and play or stay and sit out. No damn reason to just let him do what he wants because we want to be a nice FO and look good to other players. So stupid

Adam Thielen is a millionaire that we had to talk out of retirement. How do you think forcing him to be here would have helped us when his home team called? He sits out, then essentially he is retired (as he originally wanted) and our salary cap is hit without the return. In addition our young locker room has a huge distraction. Think outside what you may have wanted and you will clearly see we only had one option.

I can guarantee you, with absolute confidence and certainty, he was never going to sit out. Btw it seems you didn't know, you don't get paid if you sit out games. He only had like $2M in guaranteed money this season.

    • You honestly think Tampa would have traded down with a division rival so their rival could land a “generational player” at a massive position of need for TB?   bruh
    • Ya'll better quit throwing shots at Zod. He'll come in here and ban everybody. I had a friend @prosource who was banned in 2015 because he said some very minor things about Zod being an ass to the posters on the main forum after starting the All-Pro one. He said he felt like another level is cool, but don't punch down on people that don't want All-Pro. (He did say that it wasn't going to last long anyways.🤔) I distinctly remember him calling and being like "dude, I got banned, my profile says I don't have access to the Huddle!") I feel like once Tepper came in and cut off all unofficial access to the team, Zod was going to be around less. The All-Pro board had really good photos, even in game stuff, and I remember seeing him behind a little fenced in area at Wofford for non team sanctioned press/photographers after Tepper bought the team. I knew then his ego wouldn't allow him to continue with past fervency and effort with that reduction in access. Dude was literally in the locker room when JR was owner.  I came over in 2011 immediately after finding out this place existed. I was super involved with the Charlotte forum, and fell off after its demise. I will never forget arguing Pep over Ryan Sims on that forum! Who is Ryan Sims some of you may ask? My answer is exactly!
    • And not see him running free. Because has been free a lot more than he gets credit for.    Now what XL does with that when he does see the ball, is on him.
