So what is the solution here?

I was thinking about it, but how do we get better?  I just think it's the Tepper curse.  We've been absolute garbage since Tepper came in and fugged it all up.

So who would be our next coach then?  I'm all on the bring back steve wilks.  But would he want to come back?

it's luck at this point. takes 1 good QB/Coach combo for 75% of it, the rest is smart team building. We will be drafting a QB, after the horrible luck we've had from post Cam, maybe we finally get one.

I'm still not sure how true that still is.

Yes, early on he was VERY hands on and it was well known.  But the last 2 years, he hasn't been overt about being hands on, and if anything, it APPEARS like he's finally taken a hands off approach.

Now, sure, maybe he's still meddling, but you ALWAYS knew that Snyder was involved, and right now, Panthers fans are just assuming that Tepper still is, but we honestly have no way of knowing.

You will never be able to get him out of decisions. Snyder tried it at one point, it was successful and he reversed course because it "wasn't fun."

Tepper thinks he knows better than anyone in the NFL. It's that level of confident incompetence that will always keep the franchise behind the 8 ball

Tepper thinks he knows better than the Morgan's and Canales' of the world.

Hence why I'm saying he needs to drop the blank check needed to steal away a SB winning GM, someone he will KNOW he doesn't know more than, and in turn, will be forced to sit back and let them run things how they see fit.

Use that big wallet to force yourself to not think you're better than the people you hired.

He will never do that because it takes something above a 60 level NFL IQ to accomplish that level of competence.

He is forever remain the dumbest owner in the current NFL, as long as he IS an owner.

People don't want to work for a raging narcissist and Dave's sure as hell looks like one. Candidates are turning down the opportunity to interview here. When do you hear about turning down interviews at the highest level of football in professional sports. Right now, we are a retirement job. One stint in Carolina and you dont have to work again. Generational wealth for less than 3 years of service. For those who don't have a lot of opportunities on the horizon, its the perfect opportunity to take care of family and retire a rich man.

    • I think he's gone, and rightfully so, if he turns in another losing record. The "talented roster," regardless of how true or not, is a double-edged sword. If the roster is so much improved now from 202X then why are you still producing losing seasons? On one hand, maybe that's what needs to happen. Have the GM hire the new coach, and then have the new coach pick his guy to run his system. That is typically how it works in the NFL. Not the forced inheritance deal we have had in place.
    • Hinging on Brooks to be our spark...be good if it happens... but not holding my breath....RB next draft. Morgan gambled...it would be a 2 year payoff if thing happened.
    • Only way Canales is fired is if we are attrocious everywhere....  defense /special teams and offense..  There are enough "questions" on if BY9 is the guy that ownership wouldn't fire the coach for "just" mid qb play.  Especially with as talented a roster that has played "well enough" to win some tough football games and hang in there against the top tier of the NFL ...(mostly).   Now total team suckage..yeah .. but I don't see that happening.
