You cant have elite ball placement and miss the wide open layups he does. Its just not logical. 

Elite would mean you hardly ever miss those if at all.

Honestly, those are things I expected and have been fairly underwhelmed.

After seeing how the 2025 draft is panning out, it seems he has excelled at making the rest of the organization better (drafting, FA, developing players) to make up for his weaknesses

I would say the stat that generally flies in the face of that is his Bad Throw%.

Let's compare it to recent contemporaries(2022-2025 1st round QB's) for career Bad Throw%.

The problem here is that if you're inconsistent with it then you're definitely not elite. Every QB with an NFL contract can do these things on occasion or else they wouldn't have an NFL contract. Every QB on an NFL roster can show flashes of the talent that got them into the league.

He has strong placement when it's still something within the first 2 reads.  He's got a strong football IQ so when he knows where he needs to hit someone for anticipation, he can do it well on a slant or seam. 

But once he's making progressions and has time, he's not leading downfield (at the perimeter in particular).  The outside ball placement is where he falls off majorly.
