Panthers win and this place is miserable

The schedule thing I keep seeing but Buffalo sucks at run Defense (they are worse at it then Dallas) right behind Miami for the worst run Defense in the league.

GB struggled against Dallas and Arizona.

I don't get it. Neither of those games is as difficult as it seemed at the start of the season.

Because we looked like dog poo against probably the worst team in the league and kept giving them chances to tie.

defense played great today, special teams had was solid and had a few nice returns by Etienne

Canales situational play calling/stupid RB rotation is what held this team back today. at some point, a good defense is going to use the predictable RB rotation to their advantage when game planning

What do you attribute that to ?  Weak early season opponents or strong team ?

I think both are in play but I would not characterize the Panthers as a “strong team”. I do think they are getting better. And while I don’t think Bryce is a long term answer, at the moment he seems to be making fewer costly mistakes as the season goes on. I think some of that (a lot?) is due to the defense and the run game.

Yes, but I think any reasonable fan would say Buffalo and Green Bay are a big step up from the Jets and Dolphins. Any given Sunday, there's a reason they play the games, etc etc, but we are about to face stiffer competition, no 2 ways about it.

How many points did the Bucs beat the Jets by?  How many points did the Broncos beat the Jets by?  How many points did the Steelers beat the Jets by?

Its the NFL.  There is a reason why 90% of point spreads don't go past 7 points.

This. A lot of things were going against us this game. We were only a -1 point favorite if you follow sports handicapping.

1-Classic trap game after a huge win over the Cowboys. 2- winless team hungry..playing for their jobs and pride. 3- Our horrible road record. 4- Playing against an ex coach who I’m sure felt disrespected by how things ended and wanted to stick it to us. 5- A team with 3 nail biting losses and a tough defense. It’s one of those smelly games to where you plug your nose, get in and get out.  Glad we won. This isn’t a game fans should over-analyze. BY is what he is. This game didn’t tell us anything new about him. But XL having a career game is a huge positive though. He needed a game like today for his confidence.

Ugly wins are wins. 2003's Super Bowl run was built on ugly wins. I'd rather win ugly than lose.

We're 4-3 with three wins in a row, and we'd have been 5-2 if we won the very winnable Arizona game. We're 1-0 in the division. Our defense is suffocating. The run game is good. We're doing well enough in the passing game to win. Our rookies are contributing.

This is our best string of football since 2018 and I'm sorry but I'm ready to just enjoy winning.

is it really fascinating that people that follow the team more closely than the average person aren't as excited about what they're seeing?

is this not something you can piece together

To be fair I don’t think anything would please you or a few others here. Not sure if it’s an online persona or how you really are.

As much as I have talked about how easy the schedule has been to start the season, I’d be a hypocrite to say it isn’t that. That being said, in the end a win is a win in the NFL so il take it.

The team has improved in some areas, the next two weeks will tell me if it’s bc the schedule or they are becoming a strong team. It’s hard to tell if the defense is improving off of this game because that Jets offense is atrocious but again, it’s the nfl, kudos to them for holding another professional team to six points.

It’s crazy, I can’t get over how this schedule has been perfect for this team.

    • To kick this up, The Athletic has a really comprehensive piece out where pretty much all QB questions are addressed. It is worth seeing.  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7083539/2026/03/04/starting-quarterback-projections-free-agency-draft/?source=user_shared_article I’m putting something specific here but it should have a thread or something. It is an extensive exercise.  This is a dense write up with a lot of column inches used, about the Jets and Murray and Reich, all this stuff.. then it goes to backup QB and there is Dalton.  I am pasting that part: As for Dalton, Reich is installing the offense he was trying to run in Carolina in 2023 before he got fired, and Dalton was with the Panthers then; he’s an ideal option as a veteran backup to replace Taylor. Reich said this about Dalton in 2023: “The way he's throwing the football, the way he works through progressions, the way he handles the operation. … Since day one (when) he walked in the door, I'm like, 'This guy is starter-worthy.' You guys know I've said that all along. He's, in my opinion, one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world.” ——— That’s true love lol. I never heard any of this. Pretty crazy I think, considering how the year went.   Anyway the dream is not dead. .
    • The Seahawks traded for wide receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline. He proved to be a key acquisition. Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the regular season and had a 95-yard kickoff return in the postseason. Shaheed, though, is scheduled for free agency. So, the 12 games he played, including the postseason, might be the extent of his time in Seattle. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Shaheed and the Seahawks are not close to an extension, and the expectation is that the two-time Pro Bowler will hit free agency. Shaheed has 153 receptions for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four-year career to go along with three punt return touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He ranks 13th on PFT’s top-100 free agents. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashid-shaheed-appears-headed-to-free-agency
