What to do about the Rico situation

Obviously, he is the better back in both running and recieving. Without him, this offense wouldn't be anything. Even with the Oline decimated, still 130 yards rushing behind JAGs.

I guess Chuba is the odd man out. Have to sign Rico before the sh%t hits the fan and he walks. Trade in the next few weeks before the deadline or not?

Hubbards been great the past few years, but Rico's just on another level and meshes so well with this offense. Rico just attacks and pounds for all the yards he can.

If this team is smart, we get some value out of Hubbard before tuesday for a trade and give Rico Hubbard's contract and then some. Love Chuba for all he's done, but it's clear this team has another RB that's on another level we shouldn't let go of.

I love how Rico runs, but I am not sure he can survive the season at this pace. It is such a difference with Rico is in there, he explodes into the hole. Chuba seems to stutter step into the line.

Rico has suddenness and sensational vision.

I know people notice the explosive way he runs, but his biggest attribute is his vision.

He finds the right holes, he was a option read QB in high school, so he understands blocking schemes and how to read the the way the defense is playing the run, which I think gives him an advantage.

They need to play ettiene more. Chuba is til toeing for some reason. It looks like he lost confidence or something

getting production out of a rb you picked up off the scrap heap is not a reason to sign that player to an extension

thank him for his service, let him walk, get the comp pick, and move on.

didnt we just go through this with foreman? how's he doing? (not in the league anymore)

If Rico was performing at an average RB level, I'd agree, but he's our entire offense and producing at a higher level than virtually anyone.  He's showing real talent.  Now I will say we may want to see if he survives the season since he seems injured practically every game.

    • I think we pick it up and then someone else ends up emerging as the QB next year and we end up cutting him in year 5 and eating it.  That would be the most on brand thing to happen.
    • Evero has his faults, but even in that loss, the team only gave up 20 points. Your post gets to the heart of the matter. We are not a talented team on defense at this time. Some of our younger guys may develop w/more playing time, but for now we have no impact players at LB or EDGE. We could really use a ball-hawking S on the back end as well. We have exactly two players that have to be accounted for on every play, D. Brown, and J.Horn. Mike Jackson has been solid. The other starters would probably be backups on most the upper echelon NFL teams. We really can't expect this team to a Top 10 defense with such a lack of talent. All things considered I've been somewhat impressed with how much better they have played this year.   https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-points-per-game   https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-average-team-passer-rating We are in the top 15 in terms of points allowed per game (22.6) and top 12 in defensive passer rating (88.9). And, we are doing this without a formidable PASS RUSH. Even our rushing defense has improved. We are #16 in rushing yards allowed per game (116) compared to 179 per game last season. https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-rushing-yards-per-game I wouldn't cry if Evero moved on after the season, but his defense isn't the biggest worry for our team.
