Bryce Young every time I give up on him

At the start of this season I said what I wanted to see from Bryce was more consistency.

Unfortunately, the consistency we'd seen was the opposite of what we wanted, for the most part, otehr than today

Today was incredible. Whatever he did this week to prepare - do it again.

A couple of impressive games a season surrounded by an ocean of mediocre games connected to gulf of suck. Unless this is the game that turns his entire career around, expect more of the past several weeks of Bryce rather than what you saw today.

What happened was Atlanta, he always plays well against Atlanta

He had a great game. His best game as a pro. I’m going to need to see more games like this for my mind to change, and even that might not be enough. 3 straight years of slow starts. It’s clear he gains confidence as the season progresses

Doesn’t matter, the fact is he did it and it wasn’t just a few plays of anything questionable, he balled out.

I wonder if Bryce just didn’t have the confidence or Canales still had the training wheels on and was holding him back by limiting him to short passes?

Why would there be training wheels on a 3rd year player?

It absolutely matters, if you can only play well against one team then you are pretty much guaranteed 2 wins per year!  He threw for more yards today than he normally does in 2.5 games, he played great, not denying that at all and props to him but let’s see what happens when it’s not ATL with one of the worst D’s in the league!  Be happy with the win, I still think we can make the playoffs but let’s keep in perspective.  One great game does not change my mind after 3 years of sh!t play EXCEPT against Atlanta.  Let’s see what happens next two games.

The talent seems to be there it's the mindset that has be fuged. When his job seems to be cooked he plays free. But when hes trying to not turn the ball over to keep his job safe he plays so timid

Agree with this. I think Canales needs to light a fire under his ass every game.

He will get a pass if he plays bad next week because of his ankle. There’s always excuses and it’s the same thing every year.

    • I did think about some of those games when typing that post.  Ugly but a different kind of ugly. We put up massive offense and then pulled a Falcons. Except we snatched the win away at the end.  Still, winning and it not being pretty is much better than losing. That team knew how to win. Mostly. But look who we had.
    • So true...look back at 2015 when we won 15 during the regular season and like half of those went down to the wire
    • Sounds like you’re just caping because I have already stated my intent when I posted.  Was it hyperbolic?  Sure.  But that’s what’s fun about this board.  I don’t need validation. I’ve been posting what I think, good or bad, for years.  In my everyday life, I speak my truth and stand on that.  I don’t care about validation, affirmation, or popularity.  I enjoy the discussion, good or bad. If you re-read, I didn’t say I’ve never seen a QB get stepped on.  I said I’ve never seen one, to the best of my memory, have that happen in that fashion on a 4th down and then lay there like the MedAlert lady.  And I said I brought up that play because again, how often do you see other QBs have that happen?  How often do you see QBs who are “super processors” decide to throw a ball out the back of an end zone on 4th and goal to go?  How often do you see them get squared up with a defender and fumble before even getting hit like a scared child?  He does poo that other QBs NEVER do.  Some have, but they don’t stick around for long.  The good ones NEVER do this poo.  And that’s the problem.  And again, yes, Zavala is a fuging chode and played his part in that play…  but I go back to Bryce and his limitations and this being an ongoing issue.  It’s like if it’s not him fuging up, someone will because Bryce is out there.
