Bryce might be the most frustrating player we've ever had.

Bryce obviously has this clutch gene where he can make lazer throws with the game on the line. But he struggles down to down. How much of this is a confidence problem? I refuse to believe our WR's aren't getting open consistently. You can see them open on the game tape. Cam would be undefeated with this roster. Delhomme would have some huge games in this offense. We should have won last week, and the Saints game.

I will give credit where it is due, Bryce came up huge this game. Down multiple defensive starters, Bryce and Canales had their most memorable victory together. I'm hoping this will catapult the team. But why the hell do we have to play the game so close when we have opportunities to break away with a lead?

Bryce is pretty consistent after 3 years of playing.   Horrific or good games.

about 200 ish yards.  He largely isn’t going to throw downfield.   He struggles vs zone.  He is at his best in man looks.

Full disclosure, I’m not a super vocal hater, but more often than not I find myself wishing that the Bryce era was over.
However, I gotta give him credit, he does manage to pull some serious clutchness out at crucial times.

Today’s game plan is pretty much the way to win with Bryce. Fox/Rivera-ball the hell out of it and let him have his clutch moments on third and longs.

I can't believe how short some memories are. Guy shits bed for weeks and then has a good game and he's the man.

You can't trust a guy who's good 30 percent of the time at any position and definitely not qb

Completely agree. We still waiting on that Cam esq game where he lights it up and we Completely stomp the other team for 4 quarters. But that may never be the case,  you still only get good play from him when you have a run game to carry the load.

Look how much we ran on 3rd down. Who does that if they know they have a franchise QB? Thats crazy lol

    • There's a flip side to that, if he has 2 or 3 more great games and we make the playoffs, there's going to a tsunami of momentum to extend him going into next year. If he remains inconsistent, we will all be arguing all off season long. I think he's done enough to where he's going to at the very least, be the starter in 2026. Nothing is going to change that with 7 wins on the board at this point, even if we flame out and lose the remainder of them. We haven't won 7 games  If we win 8 games, that would be our highest win total since the 2017 season. That's very significant.
    • GWD is the critical stat for an NFL QB. What you need for perspective is GWD %.  This is how many opportunities he converts. 2023 was 12.5%. 2024 was 33.3%. 2025 is 50%. Career is 28.9%. A consistent playoff winning QB is in the 30% range. A championship caliber QB is in the 40% range. He has been tracking well even with his major limitations under the development of Canales. This is the only reason he is holding on, but he is at the same level of a Derek Carr with the Raiders. Carr was 32.4% GWD in his first 3 seasons with 12 GWD in 37 opportunities. This gives you perspective on why he is frustrating to evaluate. Carr did what for the Raiders? 2 winning seasons in 9 seasons with 4 different HCs/OCs. This is what we want as Panthers fans? A decade of average with potential and many moments of hope? At least he'll win a QB skill competition like Carr, right?
