Give Legette another season?

I'd be looking real good at the upcoming draft class for a Plan B that only costs us a late round pick or no pick at all. We're already getting a good return with Coker. Even if XL can turn it around, Moore/Renfrow aren't sticking around and so we should pick up another guy anyways.

The original hope was that he was just raw, and with some coaching he could blossom into a big time playmaker.

Turns out he’s not just raw, he’s got no fundamentals or mentals of any kind really.

You keep him as long as he’s cheap and try your best to coach him up no matter how futile it may seem.  When the time comes you cut him loose.

I don’t want to see another high pick put into WR or offense that isn’t OL or QB. At least not again it would make something like 5 straight years, we are at 4 straight years with 1sts and 2nds used on the position now. Too much to have one player left from all that. So he gets another go at it afaic.

If they can bring in someone to compete with him that is undrafted, a FA on a prove it deal, some cheaper route, go for it.

Yeah, we don’t need to get sucked into the early 2000s Detroit Lions model of drafting

Probably sign a mid tier vet. I’ve seen some mention Pierce or Wandale. Roll with TMac, Coker, vet, Horn, and see if XL can work his way back up the depth chart. Brycen would be a good one to keep if he is super cheap. XL was always a raw prospect so he needs time but he also needs to fit our timeline.

We need to use Legette like SF used Deebo, screw running intricate routes just use him on drags, sweeps, screens and go routes, he’s still our fastest WR.

I agree here . I would give Horn more opportunities and limit Legette's routes and number of plays on the field .   I would give him one more year to get it together .  Give him a few screens and let him run in the open field .  We invested too much in him to cut him this soon .

I guarantee Horn would have more receptions, receiving yards, YAC, rushing yards and game impact if he had XL's reps and opportunities. He's just a better player at the position. Not a better athlete or prospect, but a better player. I could see him being a Josh Downs type of player. XL is a Mingo type of player.

The Huddle: "Off with his head"!!! "we hate him, kill him now"!!

Well he drifted out of bounds and dropped that ball then on another short pass took it like 20 yards after breaking a tackle or two.

I don't know what it would take but you give him another year. Receivers who explode year one are the exception.
