Best CB Duo in Panthers History?

Tillman and Norman were good but it was short lived.

Chris Gamble quietly did his thing and largely held his own for a long time. He did play in a different era though. Maybe Jaycee should call him up and pick his brain. Either way. We need guys like that again. I do think Mike Jackson all things considered has been quite impressive.

They are pretty close to being the best.

People forget pass rush amd secondary go hand in hand.

They don't have a Peppers, Mike Rucker, Charles Johnson, hell they don't even have a Burns who can put consistent pressure on Qb's but yet they held their own against some pretty good Qb's.

Hasn't been perfect but if we had an elite pass right this defense would be scary.

Only 6 teams have more than the Panthers 14 ints who knows where that number would be if they hadn't dropped so many more.

2005 era Ken Lucas and Chris Gamble IMO is easily #1.

Lucas eventually fell of a cliff after a few years and I think some forget early Lucas….but this duo ain’t better than that duo at their peak

I do realize that Horn has had some pretty underwhelming performances this season but this duo overall has played tremendously overall.

Jaycee Horn

58 Targets(3rd Highest on Team), 27 Completions for 438 yds, 6 TD's, 5 INT(Tied for 2nd in the NFL), 46.6% Completion Percentage for a 70.9 QB Rating Allowed. 8 Pass Breakups(2nd Highest on Team).

Negatives: Tied for team lead in penalties allowed, most TD's allowed through the area, 2nd most missed tackles and highest missed tackle percentage among starting players at 24.5%

Mike Jackson

90 Targets(Highest on team), 49 completions for 660 yds, 4 TD's, 4 INT(tied for 6th in the NFL), 54.4% Completion Percentage for a 74.3 QB Rating Allowed. 19 Pass Breakups(Highest in the NFL). Only called for 2 penalties(1 declined) this season.

Negatives: Most completions allowed on team, most yardage allowed on team

Overall, despite some hiccups, this duo has been absolutely stellar as a whole. Is it the best we have ever had?

Appreciate the time you put into this. A couple of points, while Jackson has allowed more yards, he has allowed fewer TD's and he has a pick 6.

It would be interesting to see how they have been trending. I would guess Jackson has been improving and Horn has either stayed steady or is trending slightly downward.
