I hate these kinds of picks tbh. There’s a premium on skill position players and if you want one that’s going to upgrade your offense you really have to go early, you’re almost always otherwise just adding a JAG

Is Steve Smith Sr. in some way incapacitated when he calls preseason games? : r/panthers

You remember correctly. This guy isn't Funchess. I mean, they're both tall.

This guy is a little taller and like 30 pounds lighter than Funch. The Robbie Anderson comparison's a lot closer.

Why not? You make a point about so many 6'4" / 6'5" being a bust in the NFL but can only name one. I know of several but for every failure there are more than one success.

There is a lot of receivers that do not make it in the NFL regardless of size, That’s why it is the NFL.

Maybe the FO thought he was a good fit because every single deep pass in that highlight reel was severely underthrown and dude came back and caught them ultra-contested with great hands.

Should come in VERY handy in a Bryce Young led offense.

That’s what Will Grier is for.

Hurst looks more like what Bryce could actually make use of, but if we're open to a new QB after this season they will be walking into a nice Offense

It is a lot better team with regard to key positions than when Dan Morgan was hired. He is making it somewhere a good quarterback would like to walk into.

Good thing there’s tape of him from Tulane running actual routes

I mean, he was over 90 percent on the boundary at Tulane as well, but he did run on the left a little more than half of the time, so at least we know that he's not limited to the right as all Matt Harmon seemed to talk about. He still didn't do much slot work at all. There isn't any specific info about specific routes, motion or nuance, and that's where we really have to pivot back to scouting profiles. But you can imagine that boundary receivers are going to basically be used for "go" routes.

I wonder how much of Brazell playing boundary was because he was the best weapon on a Tulane team bereft of talent. I’m not familiar with Tennessee’s WR room, but guessing he was the most talented WR there too.

If he truly can run the whole route tree, I could see him getting moved around a bit.

That being said, Coker has spent a good amount of time in the slot, so let’s put some speed on the opposite sideline as 4 and let TMac & Coker work the middle of the field.

Please bring in Njoku now too.

Uh oh, Jimmy Horn Jr. fan club coming for me. Unfortunately, nobody cares enough to make a lowlight reel of the many times he ran straight into defenders, but here’s some highlights in which he makes zero defenders miss, does nothing that any generic “speed guy” can’t do, and on his longest catch of the season was schemed open and steps out of bounds for no reason. I did like one route and catch he had in these highlights, the one where the Miami defender yanked on him and he still separated, so credit where due.
