Dan had a great draft

One of our best draft in years. No reach picks, no real projects, and no injured players. He got great value on all the picks. Filled most of the needs. Nothing flashy, just solid picks. Hats off to Morgan.

Cannot judge a draft class until 3 seasons have gone through. It takes that l9ng to determine if the first 3 rounds were worth their selection. Some may become obvious sooner bit some positions take a while longer.

This is true. And instead of getting too focused on that. Sometimes you’re better off just drafting the best players.  Instead of forcing a position. We took the best guys available and bet on that players were dropping that also filled positions of need. Guys like Hecht, Wheatley, Brazzell were guys who could’ve gone higher, but fell for whatever reason and also filled needs by not getting too desperate

Canales seems different this year in the press conferences and interviews 

I can’t quite put my finger on it 

he doesn’t seem so ‘Sammy sunshine’ as he has in the past ..almost a tad detached

maybe he was just deferring to Dan as the draft is Dan’s show

i would have loved for them to have gotten a qb especially with lsu qb lasting till the 7th but seems they are happy to let young drive the ship into the iceberg

Very true. It looks good on paper for now. None of the picks look like panic picks, unlike Fitterer. I'm happy we finally drafted a center. We've been playing guys off injury or out of position for nearly a decade. 

Biggest hope is now that Canales won't be calling plays, we can end up getting something out of XL inside the hashes where he has room to run and stop trying to use him on the boundary where he sucks.
