The Miami Herald's Armando Salguero reports the Eagles are "willing to trade" slot CB Brandon Boykin.

Boykin is another Andy Reid carryover, and coach Chip Kelly is intent on building the Eagles his way. The former fourth-round pick is just 24 and has finished second and 19th, respectively, in PFF's cornerback rankings each of the past two seasons. At 5'10/185, he's a slot corner-only, but a good one. Salguero mentions the Dolphins as a team that would have interest in Boykin.

With the team's stated desire to move Bene back into the slot, I doubt this is something Gettleman would be interested in doing. He's also on the final year of his rookie deal and would figure to get a deal like Cap got in free agency which is another thing I doubt Gettleman has any interest in doing. Combine that with the fact it will cost a draft pick to get him and it's pretty much a sure bet he isn't coming to Carolina.

I've never seen anything but speculation that the Panthers want to move Bene back to nickel.  It's a lot harder to find a quality outside CB than it is a quality nickelback.  With as well as Bene played outside last season, I'd just roll with him there and find a new nickel.

For a 5th ..why not. More competition and we have two comp picks in that round.

Bene has won me over but his durability concerns me a bit. Hopefully this offseason training will remedy that.

I know they want to move him back to the nickle but DG said he's also more than capable to stay on the outside

if called upon. Dude is small but has a mean vertical.
