If so, ouch! Word was that Benjamin and Newton were best friends. Wonder what happened.

Highly reliable source. A lot of the best sports writers in the country have gone to work for the Athletic, Ken Rosenthall for baseball comes to mind.

Also sucks, because this narrative will be taken as fact by the ESPN's of the world and be used as ammo to continue the lazy Cam narratives.  Despite the fact, that KB was a literal lazy, stone-handed WR who would quit on plays, should've laid off the carbs, and was only decent because he's a giant human being.

Well, the guy who drafted him doesn't work for the Panthers or the team he currently plays for. It would be interesting to get his take, but he's not the type to speak on this sort of thing.

The GM of the team that traded for him was working for the Panthers when both he and Newton were drafted. it's probably not in his best interest to comment on this, though.

Yeah man The Athletic is very reputable and has some quality writing/writers. I’m honestly surprised you don’t know more about it considering how often you find links I didn’t know even existed. Pretty sure you can get a free 7 day trial I’d definitely check it out.

*But fug KB*

I was saying anyone you want us to draft winds up sucking and we should hope they get drafted by the Aints... was just messin with ya I wanted us to draft KB too

I wanted Cooks. We needed a WR badly at the time and I never said I wanted KB. The pick was going to be either KB or Lee no matter what.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
