I think Carroll is a great coach but he constantly puts Wilson in a position to have make an incredible play to get a first down, keep a drive alive, or win a game.

I’m certainly not a fan of his offensive play calling and a lot of the Seahawks success has to be contributed to having a solid defense year after year and of course Russell Wilson.

Wilson cannot carry a team like Cam.

But why should Cam have to carry the team? If Cam is responsible our W/L, what the hell do we have a head coach for? Cam shouldn't be responsible for carrying the Panthers. Cam's job should be to QB, not bail RR out again and again because he's not prepared or has hired another coordinator that is blatantly under qualified for the job.

Russell Wilson is obviously one of the most efficient and improvisational QBs in the game. He's flat out a gamer and if he keeps playing will definitely be a HoFer. Wilson is legit! People must remember that notwithstanding a straight-up brain fart by Carroll, Wilson would be a two-time champion. He's proven! So why you keep repeatedly running Carson into a pile against one of the best run defenses in the game as opposed to putting the game in Wilson's hands and upon his shoulders is baffling.  They did it, but too damned late!

Don't get me wrong, Carroll is one of the better coaches in the league, but it's like he was stubborn as a mule against the Cowboys. It's definitely a ding on him in my mind.

And, yes, it's a travesty that they haven't given Wilson better protection because I know that he would carve teams up with cleaner pockets.

That was admittedly a spectacular blunder and reeked of an arrogant attempt at shifting the offensive star off of Lynch and onto Wilson.

What is even more amazing is that in the days following that, everybody involved tried to accept the blame.  Except one person.

Wilson tried to accept the blame.  Carroll tried to accept the blame.  I think Lockette tried to accept the blame.  But the guy who called the play, Darrell Bevell not only didn't raise his hand and say "this one's on me," he tried to blame everybody else.

That also sounds familiar.

He's a damn good QB, but there's a lot of more to it than that. A QB alone doesn't get you 7/9 winning seasons and 7/9 playoff appearances. Ghe Packrfs had back to back losing seasons missing the playoffs with Aaron Rodgers.

While I agree with you, Rodgers didn’t play most of the previous year... broke his collarbone I think.

I can understand wanting to be better than good. Hey we won a SB, just get us into the playoffs and we cool...said no fan ever.

Even really good coaches fall into the ruts. I'm glad they dont have an Oline, but I get fans being pissed they won't commit to better talent there. There is always room for improvement over time.

This is facts. He might put up better numbers but he would have never in a million years taken our 2015 team to the Super Bowl. I cant think of any other QB that got put into a better situation to begin his career than Russ did. Having a Top 5 running back and a Top 5 defense of all time makes a world of difference. The guy threw 4 picks in the NFCCG and  his team still beat Aaron Rodgers. That tells you all you need to know. Of all his playoff victories, that is the only one where the other team has scored more than 20 points

Seattle was expected to be a 4 win team this year because they had new coaches on both sides of the ball and had jettisoned several key players from their last SB.  In fact there was almost no one left from the SB run other than Wilson, Carroll and a handful of players.

Their O line is still not great by a long shot, but it is much better than it has been over the last few seasons.  Their running game, with three RBs, has really been a difference maker this season.

Carroll is a fantastic field general, great motivator of young men and is quick to publicly criticize his own performance when the team loses.

The Panthers would be lucky to have him.

Of course there is more to it, but having Russ on a VERY cheap deal, without having to spend a 1st round pick on his is HUGE.
