10. CAROLINA PANTHERS

Second-round pick Greg Little is still in concussion protocol, but if he has to have his number called at some point during this season, he looked more than capable. He allowed only four pressures on 82 pass-blocking snaps this preseason.

Little is going to be OK---he is simply having technique issues.  Waist bender---that puts your head out there--that leads to concussions.

Get him right Matsko.

To me, the weak link is LG.  If Paradis does not step  up, expect A and B gaps on the L offensive side to be picked on.

No one really knows a darned thing until the season starts. It's all just rampant speculation.

But PFF knows because they want money and clicks. I am so over the fluff pieces. It's prove it time and I agree that we are about to see what we really have.

PFF is only a good source it it supports the narrative.

Right now, the narrative is our OLINE sucks and Little is a bust.  If PFF supported this, it would be touted and spammed non stop.  Since it doesn't, we shouldn't listen to PFF.

PFF is only a good source when it comes to statistical aggregation. They're fantastic at that. Their "analysis"? Oh wee mayne.

You can't really gauge our starting OL from pre-season as the sacks and pressures were results primarily from blitzes which would obviously out number the amount of OL blocking.

With the additional pressure you have to account for:

  • The QB's (primarily Allen, Grier, Heinecke)
  • The help (TE's and backs picking up the blitz)
  • The back ups ability at WR & TE to get open vs the pressure getting home to the QB

As a whole our starting unit as a whole had what, 9-10 snaps this pre-season together and people in here were melting down, and in no game did any of the starters / Little stand out individually as a glaring weakness.

I think this article is on point, no games played in 2019, on paper we have a top 10 OL.

So just take it for what it's worth.
