NFL to have Saturday games if there is no college football

Not that I got any love for the shield but this seems like a win win to me. NFL gets to pick up extra revenue, fans get something to cover the lack of college football, players aren't asked to play any more games than usual, where's the downs.....

*narrows eyes*

wait a minute...

If there aren't any more games than usual, but they are putting a bunch of them on Saturday instead of Sunday, then that means there will just be national tv audiences for games that wouldn't normally have them...

So instead of the whole country watching Alabama, Clemson and Ohio State on Saturday, the whole country is watching the Browns play the Bungles, the Dolphins vs Jets and the Redskins vs the Lions. And we'll all watch anyway cause we're desperate. And the NFL makes even more money somehow for inflicting this upon us.

@#%ing coronavirus.

Just give me a big bowl of Ebola Zaire and let's get it over with.

If they move the college season to the spring how are they going to do the draft next year?  Just move the day or still have it the same time the season is going on and have no combine?  And once the guys get drafted from teams that aren't going to the college football playoff, how many of them say f this and just quit playing until they have to report to their NFL teams OTA or training camp?

I just see problems with this.

I would love it. I wouldn’t have to work hungover on Monday due to tailgating on Sunday and going to the games.

I think there would still be Sunday games, but instead of a bunch of games overlapping, they would move some of them to Saturday so everyone can watch more individual games. At least that was my understanding of the scenario

If you don't watch Redskins vs Lions, you are going to miss a rookie QB getting his first win and taking selfies on the sidelines with fans instead of finishing the game. LOL

I have always wanted NFL games moved to Saturday anyways but I don't see it happening. I think both will be played just without fans for the same reason, that TV revenue is just to much to turn away from. With all of the changes that colleges are staring at from the fallout of this virus I would think they want to keep something the same and the sports programs are a nice stable block to build around, high demand and easy support. Getting kids back on campus after they learn they can do the same stuff remotely and not be charged like a visit to Disney will be a real challenge.

The Thursday games need to be moved to Saturday anyway

It's not legal for the NFL to play on Saturday while college season is going.  Same for Fridays while HS Football is going.  It's why we have games on Mondays and Thursday.

    • Two things: 1. Dr. Eric Eager is central to the draft process 2. I know that it was edited, but we didn't hear "Thieneman" one time, not even before the Vikings pick.
    • Why would he sign here as a guard when surely someone would sign him as a tackle?  Assuming he is healthy
    • Went back to watching the highlights. With a sober mind haha. Here is what I saw.    freddie needs to make 1 of those but the rest aren’t on him.    Slavin was BBBBAAAD again last night. Not sure what is going on with these game one Slavin gafs.    miller was ok but had his worst game in the playoffs so far.    nikishin was no good. His his awful turnover led to the first goal at the end of the first period that just can’t happen. ghost was beat like a drum multiple times last night, including the go-ahead goal at the end jarivs wont shoot. He is either hurt or he is struggling mentally and I think it could be a combination of both. He passed up a wide open net on the power-play only to pass it to no one and cleared it himself.     Svech played well. He is getting zero help on that line.    aho. Worst game as a pro. I mean that. He won’t shoot it, passes go to no one and turns it over repeatedly.  He did exactly what they did against Montreal game one when Miller had a turnover. Aho left his man to go help and left the golden Knight player wide open in front of Freddie.  If I was Rod, you Tell Aho when that thing hits your stick you fire it  someone needs to sit him down just him in a room and ask what’s going on. He seems soft, timid and has zero fire.   canes could have won that game   There isn’t a gap between these two teams  they are dead even   Carter Hart’s gonna get lit up in this series. We can beat that guy. the consensus last night was our defense played horrible and our stars won’t score.  clean the defense up. Tell the top line to shoot it everything and we’ll win tomorrow night.   Possibly convincingly.
