Opinions: if Lawrence is gone, what's the plan then?

First off.. putting the cart before the horse, you just can't play a rookie behind this Oline no matter who it us. That is the biggest problem to solve first. If they some how do a fix by 2021 then what's plan b if they don't get their QB? Keep Bridgewater and draft 2nd best rookie QB? Don't think anyone currently on this roster is starting quality....

What you got?

Fields then Lance.

In my opinion we have to take one of the three of those guys even if it means mortgaging future picks.

You have to use some cap to add free agent pieces in the secondary and a good linebacker.

You draft oline in the 2nd and 3rd round.

you roll teddy out there early next year and let the qb learn and then hopefully take over a few games in.

then you ideally compete in 2022 (same time frame as the cardinals are seeing with Murray, the ravens saw with Lamar, and the bills saw with Allen).

Lawrence is my preferred choice, I think he's got the highest floor and highest ceiling and is pro ready, but Fields' and Lance's floor and ceiling aren't that much lower than Lawrence's, and they'd be great consolation prizes. Outside of those 3 though, I have zero fuging clue what we would do at QB for the future...

    • This guy pre-draft was saying he could take or leave football, and he seems to have been playing with that mentality ever since lol.
    • Agreed, another safety would be nice. Bud Clark, TCU, is one I would like to see us take a flyer on later in the draft, if he stays healthy and we don't take someone earlier. I just really hope we draft a solid C this year. Tired of seeing us cycle through average to below average players in that area.
    • Bryce doesn't like throwing into the middle of the field unless the play broke down or it's set up to give him a passing lane.  So because of this issue, most of the passing offense has to be outside the numbers towards the boundary. So you see him throw a lot of dump offs, swing routes, short side out routes, comebacks or deep balls outside the numbers using the boundary as protection of an interception.    Pretty easy for a NFL defense to see this and scheme against it.  All you have to do is run a shell cover 2 deep dime, LB plays a hook underneath, take the flat away with a blitz/flat zone option for the two inside DB's, outside two DB's play hook zone underneath and carry anything deep.    Pretty much what NO ran to take away Rico while also limiting What Bryce can do as well.
