Curtis Samuel needs to show out against the Falcons

Their top 3 safeties are hurt (1 on IR) and their top 2 CBs are hurt as well (didn't play week 4).

If Curtis and Ian don't flash vs ATL, I just can't see them doing it ever on a consistent basis.

This is a game the Ron Rivera Panthers would have gotten their weeners kicked in. Falcons struggling and have a ton of injuries, but Ron’s Panthers would show up unprepared and unmotivated for everything the Falcons did and manage to lose.

If Rhule has exorcised those demons and the Panthers finally do the weener kicking themselves, it’s all aboard the Rhule train for me!

At this point he needs to show out for himself more than even the team. If he fails to dazzle this season, he probably won't be resigned by this team and probably wont get big money on the open market. Although, Funchess has been signed twice now on decent 1 year deals, never mind hope he balls out for this team this week and every week until the end of the season. Go get this W and put a nail in the Falcons season.

Samuel is already proven, stop the bs, led our team in red zone TDs with Kyle Allen, you guys aren't used to having a legit SET of weapons. Moore, Anderson, and when CMC returns are ahead of him in the pecking order.

Samuel is established, we just have this thing called OPTIONS now. The ball is spread around in this offense, DJ, Robby, Curtis, Bonnafon, Thomas, Davis, all had receptions in the offense.

He might just always be a good 3rd WR that can do some great things. I don't see him ever breaking out but I hope I'm wrong.

If you've got two really good WRs ahead of him (and we do), then having a solid, steady WR3 who can play the slot and even run the ball now and then is pretty much how any head coach would love to see his roster roll out.

Curtis is good, we're doing find with him right now. He has been improving week to week this season, perhaps he is getting the coaching he needs. Let's watch and see how he does. We could be very pleasantly surprised.

DJ is great, but sure would like to see more out of him. He seems to be having trouble breaking free of coverage.

    • So we cut him if we don't give him the option?  I'm pretty sure there are players who didn't get the 5th-year option that played year four of their rookie contracts with their draft team.
    • I didn't say do nothing if we don't draft one in the 1st and I"m not counting on a FA to magically become a franchise QB. But signing a FA to be our starter for the year and then re-address the next offseason would be FAR better than reaching on the wrong QB in the 1st this offseason. Feeling we HAVE to find our long term solution just because we need a new QB is how we got into this mess.  We thought Two Gloves would be at worst an average level QB for a few years, that didn't happen, so we went out and traded for Darnold.  That didn't work so we went out and traded for Baker, that didn't work so we went out and traded up to get Bryce. Our last 4 QB moves were all trying to force a solution, none of them worked out, and we're still trying to find Cam's replacement all these years later.  We'd just have been better off spending a year or two building up the rest of the team and going year to year on FA QB's while doing so.  I get it, it will be frustrating to deal with, but then when you find that actual long term solution, they plug right into an already built out roster and you're ready to contend immediately.
    • Great win, should be 3-0 but I'll take 2-1. LaMelo is an MVP caliber player, period.   This is looking like an incredible draft so far. Sion James looking like the exact type of role player that all contending teams need to have, absolute steal in the 2nd. Kalk is a work in progress and I question how much upside he has but he's already been a considerable upgrade at C for us compared to the last several years (outside of healthy Mark which of course was rare).   Really seems like new ownership/front office has change the culture here significantly. Every guy looks bought in now.
