Let’s face it, we’re way better than what our current record shows, we would’ve been lucky to pick in the top 5.  I still think we select a QB regardless. Whether it’s Wilson, Fields, Trask, Jones, our staff will sit whoever for a year and develop them.

I'm not so sure it's us being good.

Washington looks like refried zebra sh-t.

Wilson and Fields won’t be there. We’re fuged. What a shitty W. So fuging useless.

Ask any Panther player who is more of a fan. A nerd on a message board that wants a higher draft pick or someone who wants their team to win no matter what. I'm loving it. I hope we win out and you tanker nerds find a new team to wish losses on.  GO PANTHERS!

Well, fellow nerd, your opinion matters as much as any other “nerd” on this board

Well, looks like I was right, and got banned for it.

5 wins

No quarterback unless the Panthers sell the farm to move up in the draft.

If they don't take a QB expect the next 3-4 years of 6-10 win seasons. Then a hard reset after Rhule is fired.

This year has far too many teams that NEED a quarterback to grab a Watson or Mahomes around the 10th pick. There were many QB needy teams to begin the season, it's why several traded players away early to tank, and now that several big names this year have fallen off a cliff there are several teams that are looking to bring some fresh blood in.

We're fuged. Teddy costs the Panthers 60 million, a third round compensation pick, and a QB prospect worth watching.

6-10 win season with no real shot at the Super Bowl will be the Rhule Era.

Lol ya'll are ridiculous. Picking 3rd or picking let's say 7th isn't gonna guarantee poo.

Mahomes was drafted 10th overall. Trubisky was taken before him.

Just enjoy this team. Last game of what will arguably be the worst year in our lifetimes.

I'll take a W

Not many teams needed a QB that year.  This year just about every team ahead of us has a need at QB.  We legit could have gotten a potentially elite QB at the 3-4 pick.  Now we’ll be fortunate to get Fields who may turn out like the guy we’re watching today play QB for Washington

Exactly... And if we had picked 3rd and gotten a franchise-type QB, we could be playoff contenders next year despite having a ton of bums on the oline and secondary

Some things never change. We show up to play when it does not matter/hurts us

We have shown up to play all season long for the most part.  We have been competitive in every single game.  We just need to add more talent.

    • Congratulations do they know who the father is?
    • In my opinion Fitterer was probably right about not paying McCaffrey. Now not wanting to "pay RBs" in my opinion isn't something you want to set in stone, to me it all comes down to the individual.
    • Maybe I'm just not understanding, but everywhere that I have read says that signing bonuses go against the cap prorated by as much as five years. The following example uses Andrew Luck's rookie contract as an example. "Take Andrew Luck, the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft. Luck signed a four-year contract with the Colts worth $22.1 million and included a $14.5 million signing bonus. Rather than a $14.5 million cap hit in 2012, the Colts spread out his signing bonus over the life of his contract. The hit against the cap would be $3.625 million per year over four years instead of a direct cap hit of $14.5 million directly in 2012. This gave the Colts more leverage and cap flexibility in signing other players." https://www.the33rdteam.com/nfl-signing-bonuses-explained/ I don't know why some of you think that signing bonuses aren't counted against the cap over the length of the contract, but whatever.   "The bonus with a signing is usually the most garish aspect of a rookie contract. Bonus is the immediate cash players receive when they ink a deal. It factors into the cap, but only for the whole contract duration, in terms of salary cap calculations. In the case of Bryce Young’s $24.6 million signing bonus, that’s prorated to approximately $6.15 million per season over a four-year deal. This format allows teams to handle the cap and provides rookies with some short-term fiscal stability, which is important given the high injury risk in this league." https://collegefootballnetwork.com/how-rookie-contracts-work-in-the-nfl/ I understand how signing bonuses can be a useful tool in order to manage the cap, and as one of the article suggests, signing bonuses may become important if you have a tight cap, but the bill is always going to come due. I'm not necessarily referring to you Tuka, but it seems to me that others simply don't want to understand that fact which is why they're reacting to what I'm saying negatively. How odd. In any event, I have a better general understanding of why signing bonuses are used now, and it's generally to fit salaries under the cap. Surely players, whether they be rookies or not, love a signing bonus because they get a good portion of their money up front. This in turn gives them more security and probably amounts to tax benefits as well. I also understand why teams would not want to use signing bonuses, particularly for players or draftees who have a higher probability of being gone before a contract even ends.
