Watson whined about not having blocking or WRs, so Houston traded away the future for him. A year later, he wants out because they have no draft picks to improve the team.

They literally traded the best WR in the league away last year.

So many idiots think we're so far off than we actually are from competing and would pass up the chance of getting a franchise QB in order to keep precious draft picks. It doesn't matter how much you build up a team if you don't have a QB, you're not going to win anything. You're also not guaranteed that you're going to get one in the future if you wait longer. Get your franchise QB whenever you can. Teddy also has brainwashed many into thinking our line is worse than it is when actually it's not that bad. Get our QB, get a couple linemen and our offense is set. Defense just needs a couple DBs and LB or 2.

List the starting OL, LBs, TE, CBs, and top depth/backups. Keep in mind panthers cap space, which should be around 40 million. fyi 13 is needed for moton tag, 10 rookie pool, and 8(maybe 10) for in season signings.

After you figure out what type of OL and top backup youve made, would you put a star QB behind it without fear? fyi remember David Carr, Burrow, Darnold, Cam and Luck when you think about this. Think about the effect those OL had on their careers.

Goodluck..

You think CMC is the best weapon in the league? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

he’s right. We’d be getting a player off the books that was only able to play three games this year due to health. There’s plenty of historical evidence that this is an enormous risk that comes with paying an RB, which is why you shouldn’t extend them.

you've over simplified it. i've heard all the grievences layed out and afterwards i could see both sides. I'm glad I heard both sides. Sometimes there's no repairing the business relationship after both sides have said and done and not done and not said. Not my problem...

Also look at the Chiefs. Sure they have good weapons (Hill, Kelce) but their offensive line is just meh and their defense is maybe above average? Point is you really don’t have to have an amazing team if you have a QB as good as Watson/Mahomes. Rams never use first round picks and they’re playoff regulars.

RB’s don’t matter. Get Watson and we’re immediately one of the most sought after destinations in the league. Just build the team through free agency and add some pieces in the draft

I’m just assuming the people who don’t want to trade for Watson are the same ones that still want to build around Teddy. Because it’s hard to take them seriously.

People whine all the time about trading up in the draft for an unproven commodity, and those same people are probably whining about trading for Watson. Just can’t please some folk.

Hoping we can get this deal done, the Rhule and Watson era. Has a nice ring to it

Ok, I trust Verge and she is usually more accurate than most of us. So what is the bright side of this trade?

1. We still have our second rounders--Fitts talked about the players 18-40 being the same.

2. CMC's contract was ridiculous--the only way we can take on Watson's contract would be to dump CMC's.  RB is not a hard position to fill, even though I love CMC because he is more of a RB.

3. The three first rounders will not hurt that much, and if you consider that the success rate is about 55% for first rounders, we are giving them a good player and a half.

4.  If the defensive starter is Thompson--another bad contract, it leaves the Panthers with enough cap room (now that they cut KK) to tag or extend Moton.

5.  With a good OL, this team can take it to the next level with a QB like Watson.

6.  Think of it this way--getting a first round QB this year would have cost us at least a first and maybe a second to move up--but what if Miami and Atlanta were not dealing?  What if Miami wanted more?

7. I do not agree with the, "Let's just sit at #8 and see what we can get"--that is like pushing the problem back another year.  We need to be players in this game now.

8. Entering the draft with a known commodity at QB makes the draft so much easier than if we were relying on tapes and a pro day.

I dunno. It is rich, but it could be the best move we could make.  (I tend to look at it this way--would you trade Burns, Moore, Brown, and CMC for Watson?  (That puts faces on the picks--although they were early picks, and the picks we would send to Houston will be late.

Don’t pay running backs second contracts. Especially ones used at the volume that cmc is used. What we saw this year with missing all these games will more than likely be the norm for him going forward. It’s just the way it is with rbs. This franchise overvalues positions like rb and linebacker. That contract is terrible. And we signed him way too early.

we have plenty of weapons around for deshaun to be effective. We can also draft more.
