If we are trading Teddy to SF it’s not for Jimmy G it’s going to have to be a three team trade. Jimmy is terrible and that would be a terrible trade straight up. They both suck why trade?

This is the only scenario I see that could make sense...

CAR gives up: Teddy, Shaq, CMC and 2021 1st

SF gives up: Jimmy G, 2021 1st and 2022 1st

HOU gives up: Watson

CAR recieves: Watson

SF recieves: Teddy and CMC

HOU recieves: Jimmy, Shaq and 3 1sts

We get Watson without mortgaging the future and clear enough cap to resign Samuel & Moton.

Houston gets their 3 1sts, a defensive player and a QB to groom their new rookie.

And SF gets to prove once and for all whether a stacked team with a mediocre QB can still win it all in the NFL.

I really do wonder what people were watching last year.

He was a competent NFL starter - 3,700 yards, 3 receivers having career years with him. His contract isn't ideal, but damn you'd think he has leprosy with how some of you act about him.

I think the fact that we as a franchise want to move on should tell the story if you couldn't see it with your eyes or deduce it from the statistics.

He's a journeyman backup QB. That's why this will be the third team in 3 seasons to get rid of him. After all, the Jets chose Sam Darnold and Josh McCown over him, the Saints chose Drew Brees, Taysom Hill and ultimately Jameis Winston over him.

What we know is that he didn't lose his job to PJ Walker and Will Grier, so I guess there is that.

I would be absolutely thrilled if we trade Teddy. Idc if we don’t have a backup plan, just get rid of the dude.

Also the guy who tweeted this is having Adam Corolla on his radio show, so he must be legit 😂

I don't get why most of you poo on Teddy so much. You act like he's DeMarcus Russell or Manziel. You act like he's worse than Jimmy Clausen.

His numbers aside, he's a human being that's a good person, smart and good role model that could mentor a rookie, like qb like Alex Smith did for Mahomes.

But hey, you do you.

I think that depends on how free agency and the draft goes. Shaq is in line to get cut at some point based on that salary but he is also the only real starting caliber NFL LB on our roster(Chinn is destined for safety). If we can't replace him this offseason, it doesn't hurt us to keep him around for one more season until we can replace him.

We can't cut all the overpaid players at once and very easily replace them.

You can if you’re willing to stink it up for the upcoming season and draft in the top 3-5 next year.

Come on dude, SF is not giving up 2 first rounders and Jimmy G for Teddy and McCaffrey.

What specifically do you want a rookie to learn from Teddy that he showed here in Carolina? How to play ultra-conservative and throw your coaches under the bus during post-game? It's clear that for any number of reasons the staff and FO are not on good terms with him and I trust that if there truly were the positives worth passing on, at a minimum there would not be the public comments from the team.

A competent starter would have had 4500 yards and 35 TDs last year.

His coaching staff and teammates are also human beings. Once he threw them under the bus I have no problem with anybody going in on Teddy. He is less than the great person he is made out to be.

I have a question, because I do not engage in Instagram or Twitter---so I really have to assume that "unfollowing" means disassociating.  However, if I was player and I knew my name was being tossed around in trade rumors or cap casualty conversations and it was the offseason, I might not want that stuff flooding my phone day and night--is that a faulty position to take?   I really do not get into social media, so I am flying blind here-

    • I don't think so. I think once you're measuring electronically, the spot is where the sensor says it is. So if it says half yard short of the line to gain, that's the spot. Now how that works with scrums and the ball moving on two minute drills and poo is anybody's guess.
