Another example of systematic racism our black qbs face , no way mac jones should go higher than tre lance just because of his skin tone , this is insane ! . Racism at its finest . If we pick Wilson or Mac jones I’m no longer a fan

You are dumb.

People who work in a NFL organization sometimes. Easterby and Hurney are 2 easy targets proving we can in fact criticize professionals. The flip side is impressive but man some of the NFL owners have hired some idiots over the years, or just put OK people in really bad spots.

As far as Peter King or any media people? Hell yeah we can. Two words, David Newton. Getting paid for it doesn't make that person an expert, just employed.

I'm still hoping Rhule and Co can be to team building what they are to team coaching. Fingers crossed.

I would agree with you on some media people. But some media people are just talking heads while others actually study the film. So that field is rather diverse.

I dont know if I would agree with you entirely on the NFL organization comment tho. I do get your point

I think Jones would be fine in our system. We don't need a wildly athletic quarterback. We need one who is a quick thinker, accurate and knows the game. Jones is all those things. I think the hype to find the next great athlete at QB negates all the ones over the years that have been very effective without being built like a linebacker.

And seems to me it easier to take a smart football guy and make him stronger and more durable than it is to find a great athlete and turn him into a quarterback.

It is a huge ding on all the kids that opted out.

I include Greg Rousseau in that group too - he was a moron to sit out the season.

One season versus a career? That's what meant about getting caught up in the moment.  Will Mac Jones be better than Lance in 2021?  Probably.  Who is going to help out their team in the long run and have the better career.  That would be Lance, no question.  If some team takes Mac Jones over Trey Lance for immediate help in the short term, that is simply and utterly moronic.

I totally disagree.. I think in today's NFL where avg. Offensive Line play is not guaranteed from week to week.. Having a statue in the backfield is a disadvantage.. Also not having PRO's or the read option as Atleast a part of your offense.. Drastically diminishes most young up and coming OC's playbook... Unathletic QB's need to much immeasurable stuff and surrounding cast to lead to consistent success of a team...

It's way easier to teach god giving talent.. Then finding the miracle formula to make somebody stronger faster bigger...

I know we want to act like Tom Brady is the norm and he wasn't surrounded by superior talent.. But reality is there is only 1 Brady and that team was stacked when he got there and came together at just the right time..  IF we can build that for Jones and have that kind of team consistently.. Have at it...I just don't think that's realistic anymore..

He isn't a statue. Chris Sums has his rankings out and he has Jones thirf and says he may no have as big a cannon as some of the others guys but is athletic, moves well in the pocket and can make all the throws

    • At a certain point these late rounders just become like UDFAs. I personally don’t see much value in them. Looking at our draft history we haven’t had a good 5th-7th rounder in 10 years. We actually had a pretty good run of them with Hurney. Hardy, Norman, AJ Klein, Munnerlyn. But yeah the past 10 years we may as well have not even had the picks so I’d just as soon not trade back to add a worthless 5th rounder, and is also the reason I felt the trade up from 33 to 32 for the 5th yr option was so worth it because ultimately swapping a 5th for a 6th rounder seems absolutely meaningless.
    • There are multiple TE and multiple CB at the top of the board right now - definitely not the time to trade back when need matches value like this
    • This is the part of the draft where you have to take a good hard look at which players fit your scheme and culture.  Outside of the 4th round there isn't really a huge difference in who gets drafted vs quality undrafted free-agents. We are more than likely going to trade 101 if we can pick up another 5th or 6th. That would be a spot where we can draft for need/BPA.  If I were Dan Morgan, I'd be focusing on TE or Edge rusher.  If they really think Franklin is truly a late 2nd or 3rd round talent, that would be a solid move.  I really like Cade Stover, but not at 101.  If I were to identify him as a target I'd trade back a few spots.  Looking at the talent available for the 4th round I don't think he'll be picked until at least mid round. We also need to look at free agent value vs draft value here too.  If we are not in love with any of these Center prospects, how do they compare to current free agents: C Connor Williams Mason Cole Brian Allen Lucas Patrick Connor McGovern Scott Quessenberry Nick Gates Edge Emmanuel Ogbah Yannick Ngakoue Carl Lawson Jerry Hughes Charles Harris Dawuane Smoot Bud Dupree Tyus Bowser Marquis Haynes Rasheem Green Markus Golden Shaq Lawson LB: Deion Jones Zach Cunningham CB  Xavien Howard Adoree’ Jackson Stephon Gilmore Steven Nelson Patrick Peterson J.C. Jackson Ahkello Witherspoon Keion Crossen Tre Herndon Eli Apple Chandon Sullivan Fabian Moreau Jerry Jacobs WR (fits our needs) Hunter Renfrow Michael Gallup Scotty Miller I would look to bring Gilmore, Deion Jones, and Haynes back.  Looking at the center market, we could get experienced depth out of that group via free agency.  I wouldn't force a prospect unless we know he fits the scheme.  Additionally, if we are looking to start Corbet, does that mean we can't rule out a guard or tackle that we could convert to a center over the course of the season?  Most linemen are trained, at some level, to play all 5 positions. We have three picks over the next 100 selections.  If we don't value the BPA at 101 over everyone else from the list below, I would take just about any three or more of these 25 guys listed below.   Top Targets day 3: Franklin WR Tampa CB Booker Edge Javon Baker WR Carson CB Erick All TE Dolrus Edge Brenden Rice WR Cam Hart CB Jackson CB Stover TE MacLachlan TE Brenner Jackson Edge Wilely TE Cedric Johnson Edge Mohamed Kamara Edge Hunter Nourzad C AJ Barner TE Christian Mahogany G/C Gabriel Murphy Edge Jordan Jefferson DT/NT Javontae Jean-Batiste EDGE Tommy Eichenberg LB Eric Watts DE/DT Braiden McGregor EDGE
