Wow.  Time has flown...  it seems like it was just yesterday that he took over that game versus State and ran back that punt for a TD.  I know he's had a few injuries, but he has produced when given the touches...  I feel like Cincy always underutilized him.

I wouldn't mind bringing him in, but being he's a 30 yo RB, I wouldn't bank on him being around after camp, and if he is then that would be a welcomed bonus.

I'll never forget being at that game (surrounded by a ton of UNC friends as a State fan), calling exactly what was about to happen.  As soon as TOB decided to punt, I knew Gio was about to make a house call. Kenan was insane after that play while I sat there pissed at the world.

As others have said, would rather draft a guy.  If we don't come out of the draft with a RB though, Gio is a nice consolation prize and someone I think can be a poor man's CMC for a year if needed.

    • I like the approach Morgan takes in free agency where we fill holes with at least serviceable players and use the draft for BPA. So, I expect us to bring in a Safety, 1 really good LB and 1 kinda so so vet LB in case they lose faith in Wallace, an edge rusher, and with ickey's injury I think we will be the team that overpays for a LT like Rasheed Walker with the plan to move him to RT depending on Ickey's health and how long Moton wants to play.
    • Look at Rashid Saheed contract for 2024. He was more productive than Coker but probably a good reference. I think it was 1 year 5.2 million.
    • I expect the same strategy as we did last year. 3 year deals for guys around 25 to 28 years old and have the cap number be lower in 2026 and back load the contracts for 2027 and 2028 when our cap space is 100 million in 2027 and 360 million in 2028. With the years of terrible drafting this team had under Rhule and Fitterer and the lack of picks from all the panic QB trades has made it where we have few long-term contract commitments on the roster.  I'm sure there's probably some restructures and cuts we can make to give ourselves some more room this year if we need it but overall, our cap situation is in a good spot under Dan and Brandt.  I think we'll be pretty big spenders again this year. With us making the playoffs and being in a weak division I see Morgan being pretty aggressive this offseason.
