Teddy hasn't reached out to Sam yet following the trade

meh

i feel bad for him ultimately.

he's probably ready to get out of what is to him a toxic and nightmarish year of employment.

Meh, he’s the one that poisoned the season. Can’t complain when he suffers the toxicity as well. This was the least enjoyable Panthers season to me in team history.

Meh, right now Teddy isn't even sure if he's gonna be around in another week or two.

If Teddy ends up staying in Carolina, I suspect he'll act professionally when competing with Sam if for no other reason than it's in his best interest to do so.

Last thing Teddy needs at this point is to get a rep for having a bad attitude.

We had so much to be excited about with a new coach, Brady’s offense, the exciting young D and he really muted it all.

2-14 was hilariously bad plus had funny storylines and 1-15 was strangely a competitive team.

Teddy just sank the energy out of games. Sometimes the dink and dunk guys are tainted by bad OLs but that’s who Teddy is and it made games painful to watch. He just doesn’t command games and can’t press the gas.

I have to side with Teddy here. I wouldn't care to be reaching out to my new job replacement and trying to be this super sweet guy when my whole life has been changed and I'm having to spend all my time either prepping to leave and finding my next stop or training. Reaching out to Darnold and being sweetheart would be last on my mind as at this point I would be worried about myself and my future.

Not saying I'm not glad he is headed out but I certainly don't expect Teddy to be rolling out the red carpet for Darnold and doing tons of PR here in Carolina since it looks like his time here is done.

Yea, I have no sympathy for him at all.  He got incredibly overpaid to underperform.

As of now, he is still an employee of the team and will still be paid millions by the team.  I'd expect him to remain professional even if he his feelings are hurt.   That doesn't mean go out of his way to call Darnold but if he is still on the roster during OTAs, I expect him to assist.

Considering Melvin Ingram moved into his house give the man a break. Darnold took his job, Ingram took his house, Bouye banged his girlfriend, Reddick bought his mom a newer and better pink Escalade and she now calls him her favorite son and Perryman is now his dogs favorite human.

Now we probably won't get a sixth for him.

    • In May of 2026, it looks like a challenging schedule...and it probably is.  I rarely listen to the "strength of schedule" conversations that light up social media this time of year. Each year teams improve and decline. I think there's chunks of the year we need to take care of business and the week 5 bye is not desired.  I do think if we don't hit the bye week at 3-1, it's going to be a major uphill battle given the schedule in front of us. This season falls on three people, regardless of schedule strength: Canales, Bryce, Evero.  Canales: Finally can truly coach all aspects of the team and not focus with gameday prep for OC duties anymore. He drives the bus and needs to get these guys in position to win each week. There's no way vets come in and put it on the line every week to watch our QB sh!t the bed (See: SF game last year). Bryce: Despite everyone's obsession with thinking Bryce is a guaranteed extension, I think this year will truly be his "prove it" year. If he comes out the way he has the past three years, I really don't see how vets and coaches can continue to put him under center long-term. He might play out that fifth year as the starter, but I think next offseason his long-term replacement is found. I also think there's no excuses with the weapons and commitment we've made on offense to insulate him with every possible weapon.  Evero: Best personnel he's had since he's been here...no excuses. Figure out how to blitz effectively. Figure out how to use CBs whose strengths are press/man. Figure out how to utilize a talented front-7 to get the hell of the field. Outside of FS and maybe....maybe ILB, there are few weaknesses on this unit.
    • Canales can never get his teams ready in the first week of the season so far. Hope that changes or Ben Johnson is going to take his azz to school.
