We tried. It doesn’t work.  Draft a tackle high for once.

Scott Fitterer and Matt Rhule have not tried.  Marty Hurney and Ron Rivera did....

@tecc86 @ImaginaryKev go watch some film boys.... its very unimpressive.

Jimmy Johnson also made a great point. Surtain is already coached up by his father and the best coaches available at Bama. There's not much more coaching can do for his abilities... and he is not better than Horn. Get off the "last name" bandwagon and let your eyes show you the way.

Agree we need CB but I keep thinking aboutJeff Okudah at #3 last year for Detroit 😬

Along with a WR, a certain CB was also a target of ours last year in round 1 had we traded back

Rhule isn’t a dummy. He knows where this roster needs help

Marty in two drafts (I’m pretty sure he wasn’t driving last year), drafted 2 tackles and 0 IOL. One tackle was a 6th rounder and the other was drafted with capital equivalent to a late first. That tackle was also roundly panned in here pre-draft. After the combine, his stock dropped like a rock and we talked about how much we didn’t want him.

In two drafts, that’s not really a try. A try would have been drafting Erik McCoy to be a C/G and using the 3rd we’d get back to draft another G. Even though we were going to lose Norwell, Kalil and Turner in the time Marty was here, we didn’t draft a single IOL. He never tried. 3 drafts got us 0 actual OL. As much as Gettleman did wrong, in 5 drafts he at least got us Moton, Williams, Turner and Norwell.

♪ Draft a weapon ♪

♫ Pitts, Chase, Waddle, Smith in that order ♫

♪ We wonnnnn't regret it ♪

With all of our WRs last year we didn't come close to the playoffs.

In terms of offensive line ratings, from the Panthers down (18), no one made the playoffs.

When the Panthers went to the Super Bowl and NFC Championship games, they consistently had a good LT starting.

WRs who are good or stars are consistently found in the 1st 2 rounds. They also don't have an amazing success rate in those two rounds simply based on order taken. You're statistically just as likely to get a great WR in the 2nd as anywhere in the 1st.

It's funny bringing up the last name thing and then talking up Horn. You may be right, just a funny tidbit.
