Horn

He has slowly become the pick I want most.   I just like the gamecock ties and the raw talent and style of play.  Action has never impressed me. Jackson is a  solid number 2 corner and would be a superstar at slot but...  A Horn and Grant first two rounds would make our secondary a force.

This would be a terrible pick at #8

If Horn is who the team wants, there is is ZERO reason to not trade down a bit, even if it's not that good of a trade to trade down, we'd still be able to get him and at a cheaper contract.

I feel like most of the love of him on here is due to the Carolina connection, thankfully as a longtime Panther's fane from outside the Carolina's, I don't have any connection to him and I can realize that.

I'm not against Horn, but I'm VERY against him at #8, there would just be better choices at that spot regardless.  I very much think we need to get a shut down corner, but I don't think there is anyone worthy to take at that spot, not when we could trade down anywhere from 9-15ish and still get one of the top 2 CB's on a cheaper deal and pick up a few more draft picks at the same time.

For me, it's Sewell, Slater, or trade down, nothing else would make me happy at this point.

We've had a LT problem since Gross retired, there are 2 legit choices for us this year, we should be able to get one of them, but if not, there isn't a clear cut choice at #8 for me and we can trade down a few spots and still get an equally impactful player on a cheaper deal and pick up some extra picks while we're at it.

The scapegoating and blaming the teams woes on his personality is where it's like Cam Newton all over again. It was a failure on multiple fronts and primarily Lee's. Dude said ON AIR pregame that they had to protect the paint and if that was his gameplan going in he couldn't have botched it more. As the commentators said Ball's a rhythm guy and Orlando was preventing him for getting any kind of flow going. I'm a normie watching on TV and said they needed to bait them into fouling to combat that. They didn't even try until the 2nd half when it was too late. I think it's fair to expect the star to overcome whatever but LaMelo was not the problem in that game and he's not what is holding the team back. He's the only reason they're flirting with being a great team. I kinda put the center play on Lee too. Moose is great until he's up against a big who can body him. We've always known that and that's what Kalkbrenner is for. I don't know if it would have changed much but Kalkbrenner should have had more minutes than him.  And moving forward with the center position, I just think it's the time to trade Diabate while his stock's high and that's not an indictment of his game. He's like an evolved combination of Biyombo and PJ. He's a great rim protector and the strength issue is just what you're going to have to deal with if you want that. But Kalkbrenner is perfectly capable of protecting the rim and we gotta get away from the undersized centers or it'll always be a problem for us.
    • Honestly its why that Jalen Coker grab was a big deal.  I'd been warming up to the idea of a sadiq pick and was adamantly against a receiver...but this altered my train of thought.  I mean For instance, Cade Otton signed for 3 yr 30 mil contract...thats not dramatically different than the rookie payscale for #19 (4 year 20 mil with 5th year option), however you KNOW otton is decent...no clue if Sadiq will be anything.
