Kind of like Teddy Bridgewater without an offensive mind like Sean Payton? I detest the Saints but if they can go to the playoffs with two gloves and our staff can't string together some wins with Darnold it is going to start looking iffy.

It’s not just the Saints that won with Teddy.

Teddy Icewater’s history of winning extends all the way back to his youth football days. Rhule is literally the only coach that hasn’t won with Teddy as his QB.

Teddy was made the scapegoat for other organizational failings and the fan base bought it hook, line, and sinker.

Bluff for a trade out, the NFL wasnt in love with Fields as some on here

Once Mac Jones wasn’t gone at 3 it was evident a QB was going to be available. Supply exceeded demand

Gross. Looks like we overpaid another mediocre QB

Im already on the Sam Howell/Matt Corral watch. We will probably have to give 2 first to move up

I seem to recall you telling me that all signs were pointing to Fields and I needed to "deal with it" 😆

You're not prepared to take your own advice?

Panther fans have no reason to hate Sam Darnold. We ALL want him to do well. We just have no reason to believe that all of a sudden he's going to transform into anything that he hasn't always been

The reason to believe is Joe Burrow.

Look at Burrow before Joe Brady got to LSU versus Burrow after Brady got to LSU. I submit that Brady was able to transform Burrow into something he hadn't been.

(I really wanted the Panthers to draft Fields last night, but we didn't. Now, we have to hope that Brady can make Darnold into a great QB. )

Insiders have said several times that the team wasn't very high on Lance.

Their thought was that he doesn't fit Joe Brady's system.

I'm really wondering who fits his system? Im going to guess Darnald but didn't Bridgewater and look how sour that got.

I saw a lot of coaching up last season. the team way out performed their talent level.

was it all the high round picks on offense or defense that you didn’t feel confident in when they were drafted?

all the same, this attitude tends to overextend itself and manifest in ugly ways

    • The panthers are such a trash organization at this point that all the huddle can do is argue about which panthers team is historically the worst…good times.
    • Well, hope they're not worried about a torn Labrum or Rotator Cuff, as someone who went through that myself, I know those don't have anything show up on X-Rays but from the MRI, so this is kinda a nothing update, hope it's not a tear or his season is already over if they decide to do surgery now. Which is basically what would be needed to get him to 100% for the start of next season's training camp if it's a labrum.  If he plays the season with it and then does surgery, he's not going to be ready for camp and probably not the start of the season either.
    • I always try to not pay much attention to a team’s preseason win/loss record. The 1982 Washington and 2021 LA Rams both lost every game in the preseason and went on to win the Super Bowl, whereas the 2008 Detroit Lions and 2017 Cleveland Browns both won every game in reason and went on to lose every regular season game. There’s many examples of teams that lose in preseason that go on to have good seasons, but equally there are teams that lose in preseason and that continues in the regular season. Which will we be?  I think our floor is a handful of wins, while our ceiling will probably be around the 9-10 win mark. The latter will require significant improvement from the whole team and coaching staff, and will also need Bryce to play like the QB we drafted him to be. I want to be optimistic and predict a winning season, but it’s really difficult as a Panthers fan!
