Part of me wonders if he was not upset about not getting the job Morgan is interviewing for? I realize that he has not paid his dues in the front office...you never know.

No way would Luke be in the running for assistant GM. Morgan has been in FO positions for years now. He deserves it. Doesn’t matter if Luke was a better player than he was or not.

Luke will be one of my favorite all time players for life.  The dude literally worked so hard and studied so much tape he would audible our D to the EXACT offensive audible just made my the likes of Manning, Brady, Brees, Rodgers, etc.

He was special....

He reportedly resigned back before free agency even started.

I don't really think there's any intrigue to it, honestly. He probably just needs a break.

I would think he is free to come and go as a scout as needed. He probably researched some players, gave his input, and then called it a season (back to fishing). I’m sure he will be welcomed back next year.

Possible. Heck, Morgan didn't jump straight back into football but he wound up there.

I do think it's very likely though that Kuechly might be burned out. The workaholic types frequently do, and Luke was a super workaholic. He's been busting his ass for the past what, 12 years now?

Some guys just get to a point where they don't love what they do as much as they used to.

    • just read the thread. I would like to say that the team not being sold to Tepper is an absolute banger of an answer and probably the right one

Initial gut reaction when I first thought of this question is Kasay kicks it in bounds on the kickoff, but unfortunately I still think New England wins that game even with that My second instinct was pulling Bene out before he breaks his leg in the playoffs. My crackpot theory is if he never gets hurt we win the superbowl. I refuse to go back and watch the game but at some point Peyton throw an absolute duck that should have been pick 6'd. but because we were on our like fifth outside corner he was slow to the ball. this would have completely flipped that game because I'm pretty sure Denver scored that drive and the next one was the Cam sack fumble
