2021 Carolina Panthers Schedule and some thoughts on it

Here is the 2021 Carolina Panthers schedule. 

 

 

Thoughts: 

- Obviously week one sets the tone and will allow Sam Darnold to exercise some demons. But Robby Anderson has always felt slighted by NYJ and will be looking to cut them deep also. 

- Can't remember when the Panthers have had the first two games of the season at home. With attendance back at BoA that is going to be fantastic for this young team to finally hear the cheers during introductions. 

- First half of the season is much easier than the second half. Panthers will need to quickly get some wins and build some confidence for a playoff cusion. Late December / early January is going to be really rough. 

- I suspect Preseason week 3 is the new Preseason week 4. No starters, just players who likely are getting cut. 

- Panthers could very well be 6-3 going into November with a little luck and a healthy squad. 

Overall this is a pretty decent schedule for the good guys.

This is what I’ve enjoyed the most since moving to California.

Backend of the schedule is brutal.  Hopefully can take advantage of the September and October slate. 4 or 5 wins in the last 9 games might be a best case scenario.

I see the NFL has kept the streak alive with having us play the perceived division leaders twice in 3 weekends to end out thw season.

I like the schedule overall.  Wish the bye was smack in the middle of the season, but we’ll see how it goes.  Tough slate to end the season, but if we’re clicking we can take quite a few of those.

Honestly, this schedule screams that the NFL thinks we're gonna suck. Our lone primetime game is against the Texans who sucked even worse than us last year and are almost certainly going to be without Watson at the time of our match up. Everyone has to get a primetime game, so they just burn one on two shitty teams.

So much is going to depend on our division games. Are we the 2nd best team? 3rd? Worst? That will be the difference between us and maybe being .500 or better.

The NFC South is going to be pretty hard to handicap.
