Will winning cure all Panthers ills?

Let's say the Carolina Panthers come out this season and start off 4-0 in convincing fashion. Not close wins. Not flukes. They come out and win in all phases of the game.

At that point, will your excitement level be that of a playoff football team once again?

If we’re 4-0.

and the defense looks Good.

But more importantly, Sam Darnold looks good.  I will be excited.

if we come out good on all phases but QB, I won’t be that playoff excited.

it all revolves around the QB, and how Darnold is playing+the record will determine the excitement.

I’d rather see us win close games. That’s where we sucked the worst last year.

per Vegas we will face our 3 easiest opponents in the first 5 games.

4-0 would still be 4-0 though.  Convincing wins? Yeah, I would still probably rethink and alter my excitement some for the season.

No. Going to take some continued success, as we've seen plenty of hot/cold over the past 20 years of Panthers football and the last 2.5 years have left a really bad taste.

Kyle Allen era started off 4-0

Teddy era started off 3-2

and then things went south pretty quick

    • Yuck.  I still kind of like Herbert but these playoff performances are rough....
    • I feel like this was the case with River and McDermott defenses as well, we just had the jimmies and the joes to overcome these deficiencies with all pro players at edge and linebacker positions.  Even then, was extremely frustrated in 2015 when we'd let team come back from 20+ pt deficits playing prevent only to barely win at the end.
    • We need to move on soon and just use Bryce as a bridge to find our next guy. I'd like to see how this offense works with Canales hand picking his own guy. Bryce holds this offense back a lot considering you draft the first pick to carry your team and be your best player. We invested heavily for Bryce and need everything to go right just to have him look like a solid game manager sometimes. When he plays well he can look decent or mid, but when he plays bad he looks like a bottom 5 qb in league (backups included). It's not worth it, especially if we need to pay him soon, which means we have to skimp all over the roster. If the defenses don't hand it to us on a silver platter Atlanta style then we struggle big time. Defenses don't respect the offense at all. With Cam we could have the worst offensive talent and I'd still think we had a shot in any game we played. If Bryce is facing a 3rd and 10 I pretty much wave the white flag and don't think we can make that first down.
