if the panthers win the nfc south this season I won't ever post a negative thing about this team ever again that's how confident I am that this will never happen

Brady gets hurt we're the favorite easily.

There's definitely a much better chance of you being right than me, but I am feeling 2003 vibes with this squad.

Down to Tampa being the defending SB champs...

Not going as far as saying we are SB bound, but I think this team is going to surprise a lot of people

I genuinely believe this team is much better than the national perspective, and I will be disappointed if we don't finish at least 2nd in the division and make or at least challenge for the playoffs (especially since there are now 3 wild card spots)

It would take some combination of the following:

Sam Darnold to play like the #3 pick he was.
Cam Erving to play much closer to the 1st round pick he was.
Brian Burns, DJax, & Derrick Brown have breakout years.
Horn has a serviceable year that is largely rookie-mistake-free.
CMC stays healthy, in fact most of the starters stay healthy.
Rhule, Brady, Snow and company shake off their rookie mistakes from last year.

Cam Erving to play much closer to the 1st round pick he was.  Really doubt it.
Brian Burns, DJax, & Derrick Brown have breakout years.  Very possible.
Horn has a serviceable year that is largely rookie-mistake-free.  Possible.

Rhule, Brady, Snow and company shake off their rookie mistakes from last year.  Definitely possible.

It's certainly possible, but honestly it's a lot that has to come together; perfect storm if you will.  To me, I think it comes down to Darnold playing better than he has in the past and the defense getting stops on 3rd down better than last year.  I think the defense is going to be very good this year.  I'm not sold on Darnold...at all.

    • I enjoyed reading this thread and the usual banter that follows. The only silver lining I can identify right now is we do actually have a couple of young QB's behind him and we do have a nice roster on both sides of the ball built around the most important position. So if the team overall shows some promise but we still falter largely due to a lack of consistent passing output (again) hopefully the decision makers can be free to make the best decision for the team going forward after the conclusion of this upcoming season.
    • I don't really follow the team anymore due to a variety of reasons and consequently have largely stopped posting but I agree that this is a lovely website and community. This forum probably kept me around for years longer than I would've stuck otherwise because of how difficult it was to stop checking multiple times a day. Especially appreciate how lax the moderation tends to be compared to a lot of places, the crew here does a great job. Out of curiousity I decided to try making a new account (solely for testing purposes) to see what exactly is wrong with the sign up process. The issue seems to be that it never sends you an account verification email, thus making it impossible to complete registration. This is likely something to do with the email server upstream, hope it gets fixed. Also, lol
    • Uh oh, Nicole Tepper hugged him. In all seriousness though every time I see more about him my hopes get higher. Smart, great attitude, prototype size and measurables, and athletic. He could be a great one.
