Brady and Deonte - The Future of the Right?

I am rewatching the game today (some for the first time, thanks to WSOC) and I have to say I am really pumped by what I see from Brady Christensen and Deonte Brown as a tandem on the right. They seem to have a pretty good chemistry together for so early in the process.

Brady Christensen was left on an island for most of the game. He wasn't perfect, but it was a darn good showing for a first preseason game. Very good. Deonte Brown just manhandles guys. They really struggle to move him at all. 

 

 

Run Game

Watch Deonte and Brady move their guys here. Unfortunately, Someone else blew it (maybe 78 Trent Scott), but the right side of the line was solid. 

 

 

If these two guys end up being solid starters from this draft, along with Jaycee and Terrace its going to be considered one of the best in panthers lore.

I also watched today to focus on Brady.  Very impressed.  I was pretty worried about a third round rookie RT getting significant playing this year, but I'm ready to let him play against the ones and get some experience.  He looks like he can be our tackle for the future.

With Moton at left, who I feel good about on that side, I'm starting to believe in miracles.

Surprised a flag wasn't thrown on that first play for holding. Then again, it is preseason.

Deonte's feet in run blocking---nice.  He still could lose about 10 lbs, but I think the staff wants to get them ready at some point.  Moton to LT depends on Erving, really.

I'm still watching it now, and every snap I've watched them, I've been impressed.  Very excited about these picks.

NGL, they showed him walking on the sideline after he came up gimpy, and I thought to myself, even among some of the largest and widest bodies in the world, it's very rare that you see guys now who they still can't find pants for that fit them...  Brown is one of those guys.

So is Brown’s ankle injury serious? He left the game and did not return so hoping he is ok.

If it plays out that way, it would reduce our list of needs considerably.  We would go from needing to fill up to 4 OL slots to maybe 2.  I just hope it plays out that way, and somebody else cements themself into one of the other slots.

Side note:  6 is looking pretty good when it comes to awareness in the pocket.  Wouldn't mind if he develops into a solid backup.
