Honestly I think our staff has a bit of a college mentality.

You recruit kids with good traits and you turn them into good football players.

There is a reason we keep going after these high draft pick free agents who have struggled elsewhere.

This.

Dont know the exact traits but with every passing off season I see more. Athleticism plays a major role.

Evidence: As a whole unit on average I'd wager we're top 10 maybe 5 of athletically gifted DT's in the league. Could probably say the same at DE.

Not so much at Oline.

Also: The ones that are average are more than likely multi position guys.

If you think of our defense, every one of our starters can play more than one position or interchangeable.  The exception would be Horn.

Look Im not a ELF fan at all, hated the signing and repeatedly questioned the player many times. I thought he was the 2022 paradis replacement.

Soooo very low expectations. I thought he did "decent". He combo blocked, released and got out the two level. In space blocking LBs and CBs, most OL whiff and ELF did that a couple times. He also pulled and was used in the screen game. I except Qwilliams&Srichardson to have career days going against ELF&paradis. They held their own to my shock. One flag on CMC 1st down hurt a little, still not bad

Well.. It can't be any worse than the 32nd ranked pass protection grade we received from PFF this week. 20% pass protection win rate this week, in other words the ability to hold your block for 2.5 seconds.

What Meyer is really saying is they are far enough along to replace the trash we have in place at the moment.

We could be in for a very long season, CMC was the big reason Sam didn't take more hits. He's either open or making a block. If our O-line doesn't improve its play, we will consistently see CMC getting 30 touches a game and when Sam doesn't have the time to push the ball ball down the field, we will realize this was the same issue Teddy Bridgewater had last year.

If this team can get consistently league average pass protection, it will be a dynamic high scoring team. Sam needs more than 2.5 seconds 20% of the time or else this team becomes dink and dunk and pray for CMCs health for 17 games.

I don’t understand why coach’s think his arms are to short to play LT. him and brown dominated when they were in there together during the preseason which they should because they were going against backups. You can either play LT or you can’t what he lacks in arm length he makes up for with Athleticism.

does anyone know what Brady pass rush win rate was during in college stint…it was the best in college .8 %

When Fitterer walked into his office he had 2 major problems to fix: the defense as a whole and the o-line. They saw the defense as a bigger problem because if they couldn't stop the run and get off the field on 3rd downs the offense wasn't going to have many chances to score. It looks like they fixed that and did what they could for the o-line. Who looked better than I thought they would, Sam was sacked once. Part of the equation, of course, was CMC. It's a work in progress and I appreciate any progress they make including the rookies.

    • Idk man, I think it’s necessary.  There’s people working 9-5s everyday that get told poo about what they aren’t and what they’re not capable of and they’re working for scraps.  These guys are making millions.  People are watching and invested because their team and fandom is a part of their identity and a big source of pride.  When someone like Bryce comes in and is given chance after chance after chance after proving he is not worthy of the position he’s being gifted, and he continues to be the biggest reason above any that we are losing, yeah…  I think it’s fair to call a spade a spade.  Am I saying Bryce the person is trash?  Bryce the person is a piece of poo?  Absolutely not.     I came up in an era, especially in basketball, where if you were fuging up people heckled the poo out of you.  I played in rec leagues as a teen where the fuging parents were calling kids trash and yelling poo like “TURNOVER!!!  TURNOVER!!!”  “CANT DRIBBLE!”  “CANT SHOOT!”  And that’s adults screaming that poo to kids like we were in the fuging Rucker lol.🤣🤣🤣  I went on to play basketball at a collegiate level and with professional players in different settings.  What those experiences as a kid taught me was to see if there is any merit to what people are saying, and if there is, then work my ass off til they can’t say that anymore.  Come back better, tougher, harder.  And I did.  If kids can figure that poo out, an adult calling another adult who is bad at his job while making millions and millions of dollars will be just fine.
    • I have tried to like this team, lord knows I have tried. BY9 is a nice young man, if I had a daughter he can take her to prom, but he ain't QB1 and he's not Cam or Delhomme Chuba is a average RB, he isn't Stephen Davis, he isn't J-Stew McMillan has the makings of a good WR, but he isn't 89/Moose D. Brown is a great player, but if the game was on the line I want Kris Jenkins       I miss this brand of football, even in the bad Jake games the games were entertaining It has been nearly 8 years now of watching numb football
    • I'm not so sure. Something about the whole Frank/Bryce situation seemed off from day 1. Bryce didn't fit Frank's QB mold as well as Stroud, then he basically gives up when Bryce is named starter in preseason but gets virtually no reps in games. Then he looks completely unprepared and Dalton steps in in Seattle, has a decent game under immense pressure, and it's right back to Bryce. All his mechanics are terrible and he's having the worst rookie season ever and Frank doesn't bench him?  You dont have to be a conspiracy theorist to know Bryce wasn't ready to be a day 1 starter. Everything with Bryce, then coaches, and the FO seemed forced.
