Surprising ratings from our game.

The Darnold factor? 😀

Quote

According to NFL Media, the Texans’ 24-9 loss to the Carolina Panthers in Week 3 was the most-watched NFL Network exclusive Thursday Night Football game since 2018 with 7.9 million viewers consuming the game across television and digital platforms.

Interesting and surprising.  Maybe some of the off season attention related to Watson caused more people to watch?  NFL starting to recover from the ratings drop?

I think Darnold is a part of it but I think it's the team as a whole. Also, Carolina isn't hated by many fans of most other teams. So I think we are a team that many can kind of root for. We also have some nice stories that are easy to support like Darnold, Rhule and staff plus we have some other exciting young players. I think many were curious to see if we are for real. Carolina is creating a buzz.

Hope you are right.  And I hope we continue to create that buzz.

The game was hyped up more than other games. I think the NFL realizes the Panthers might be a contender this season. I have a feeling if the wins keep coming we might get flexed into a Sunday Night game later in the season

Isn't the Bills game a possible flex game? Like the packers game last season was originally supposed to be at 4 PM IIRC.

It says the time is TBD.

    • Lions were never going Freeling over Miller for the same reason we wouldn't have taken Miller had Freeling not been on the board. Miller is a career RT Lions have a hole at RT, we have a hole at LT. If we took Miller, it would have been for him to backup Moton until he retires and/or we release him, so the best case scenario is it would have been a wasted 1st round pick for at least 1, if not 2 years.  At least Freeling has a shot at playing this year without injury ahead of him, he absolutely can win the LT job if he earns it, but Miller would have never supplanted Moton this year unless he got hurt.
    • What up y’all. I like threads like this where we can stroll down memory lane. I remember the insane amount of site traffic pre-crash when we signed Keyshawn Johnson, 06 I believe. Raging about the Cowboys Christmas Eve loss in 05 (Peppers touched that FG attempt as sure as Cotchery caught it). When I found the huddle I basically had a first born baby, now I’ve got one in college and one in high school. Life comes at you fast, but the Panthers and the Huddle has been a steady constant in my life for many years.  Those who have been here, y’all are cool with me any time any where.    Cheers, genitals!
    • This is a weird post since it wasn’t like we got A’s across the board. We needed a QB and got a consensus top 2 player at that position. (I was pretty vocal that Stroud should’ve been the guy but…)  I think this draft we generally got better value. I’m not particularly optimistic on BY but another year in this offense playing with TMac he really needs to be a consistently average QB at a minimum
