“There was word this summer about the Saints showing interest in a deal for Henderson, but nothing came of those discussions. Things went further with the Panthers and Henderson is now set to move to the NFC South for the rest of his second NFL season.“

We got Horn when the Saints were trying to trade up for him, and got CJ who they were attempting to trade for this offseason as well. Word was that the Jags wouldn’t take less than a 2nd round pick at the time

Anything that gets one over the Saints is an automatic win for me. Fug Sean Payton, fug Micky Loomis, and fug the entire Saints organization.

Beat them to the punch with TMJ in in draft

Beat the ever loving poo out of them on the field

and now we beat them to the punch with Henderson.

You also got to take into account the talent he was playing around though.

I did and took into account he and his coach don't see eye-to-eye.  I'm just pumping the breaks a little bit, that's all.  Initially I got got up in an early in-season trade (SUPER rare for us) but then I started to dig a little bit and understand while this guy obviously has potential, he hasn't come close to utilizing it for whatever reason.

At this rate we may end up with Sunshine in a couple of years. Might want to keep an eye on these young players being thrown to the wolves around the league.  Rhule and Fitterererrr's not afraid to try out reclamation projects.

Sunshine? Is this an inside joke that went over my head?

even if it doesn't quite pan out and CJ Henderson tops out as an average type CB, this is the kind of trade that can build a defense that can withstand losses to injury and whatnot.

I think this is either a boom or bust trade tbh.  I suppose he could end up being just average but it seems likely he'll either flame out here too, or become a fixture of the D. He has all the physical tools to be great, but it sounds like he's dealing with significant mental health issues.  Hopefully he is getting the treatment he needs.

Stop me if you've heard this one before:  Panthers just traded for a former first rounder that has been underperforming on a highly dysfunctional franchise.

Players play better when...

1. has good coaching staff

2. player wants to be there

3. team has talent around player

    • I think you know. Apparently winning is secondary to Bryce’s development. Same as it has been.     In a way it may be good because we didn’t need to make the playoffs and extend this fuging charade about Bryce being the guy. Better in the long run if he gets enough rope to hang himself with.
    • Dave Canales is not the problem. He just isn't
    • I know DC is overthinking this and he really needs to be OC or HC, but how do you call plays with a QB that in all reality, shouldn't be starting. Bryce is wildly inconsistent. He should lean on Rico and the run game, but if he does and wins, it presents a false narrative that Bryce is better than he is and he's potentially stuck with him for another season. If he doesn't, he looks incompetent as a play caller, but it exposes the ugly side of his QB situation that he really does need a QB that can execute at minimum a basic NFL offense with some decent consistency.  I feel a little sorry for the guy because he was anchored with Young this season and even more weight with Dalton getting a 2 year deal. He has very little to work with at the most important position on his team and it's not his doing. The trade deadline was approaching and it was plainly obvious we needed to do something but we didn't for whatever reason.  I don't think he's a complete bonehead and don't know what he's supposed to do. Win games and potentially keep Bryce or lose them by putting the weight on Bryce's shoulders. Either he succeeds or fails.  As a coach I know you're supposed to play to win the game, but do you win now at the ultimate long term detriment to your team and locker room?
