Visitor hospitality at our stadium...

I mean, the majority of the people in the stands create the welcoming atmosphere. I remember being told a few years back "don't stoop to their level" when I was waving a flag around in this dudes face when after the drive before he had turned around and fuging told my wife to "sit down bitch" after his team had scored on a long 3rd down. Like, they just sit there and take these assholes "fly eagles flying" in their face but if you talk poo back now you're the bad guy because it's not polite. It's pretty much like that all the time though, I've long since gotten used to it.

I was at the game vs the Jets and today. Plenty of Jets fans week 1 and they made themselves known especially with minimal fans that week. Today, there was more Panthers fans but also a bunch of Eagles fans. Many Iggles fans wore black jerseys when blended in with Panthers fans. Panthers fans actually were loud and took over the stadium the first half before Darnold’s debacle.

The only way BOA can go back to being like in 2013-2015 is winning and having elite franchise guys, face of your franchise worth paying to go see each Sunday like Cam Newton and Luke Kuechly. We have a bunch of young new coming guys making a name for themselves like Chinn, Burns and Reddick but none like Luke. CMC is elite but he’s not a player who can carry this team on his back like Cam.

Yes we should be unwelcoming to the opposing team until the final gun sounds then we can be polite.

They are our enemy.

Let's get some perspective.

Philly is famous for having a jail under the stadium because their drunk boorish fans behave so badly. THAT is one of the most hostile stadiums to visit. The kind of place where young girls get beer poured on their heads by drunk losers for daring to cheer for another team or wear that team's jersey.

They are NOT our enemy.

They are a visiting sports team and their fans.

Period.

Of all the things in life you could choose to be upset about, fans of other teams daring to show up in your home stadium and cheer for the team they support should be pretty low on the list.

You sound like the guy that tells other Panther fans to sit down when they stand up to make noise for the D on 3rd down.

Winning cures everything.  If the Panthers ever manage to put a string of winning seasons together it will be much tougher for opposition fans to secure tickets to the games.

This.  And as much as I don’t like it, winning also brings in more bandwagon fans so a lot more casuals claiming to be Panthers fans would be in those seats if we establish a winning tradition.

TBH, yesterday it sounded like we were playing in Philly.  Had we had that many Panther fans at a Philly game, half the stadium would be stretchered out, and the other half would be in their built-in jail.

On tv Eagles fans sounded just as loud if not louder than Panthers fans. We've lost everything Cam built already. I get that its difficult because you don't want to cross the line into your fanbase being considered assholes, but there's plenty of teams who have good passionate fanbases who don't let opposing fans take over their stadium. Pitt, Buffallo, Seattle, etc.

Still a relatively new team compared to those franchises, in a city where everyone grew up somewhere else. Add on the fact the Panthers are a usually a frustratingly bad team most seasons. Ticket prices are ridiculous and watching the game from home is just as good if not better than going to a stadium full of drunk idiots to watch the team lose.

The only good thing about the Panthers is that we’ve had more success than our sister team the Jaguars

Have any of you ever actually gotten into a fight with opposing fans at a game? I have and it sucks. You’ve got your spouse and family members to think about as well as elderly fans nearby that would be really hurt if you threw some Eagles fan onto them, and some guys who’ve brought their young children to their first game who you have to account for their safety too. It’s not just about your hurt feelings that some drunk hick is trash talking in ‘our house.’ If someone is talking trash, be clever and talk better trash, or just push all of the hate down inside and save it for when we’re on top again. You can also get security to escort them out if they’re hurting more than your feelings.

I like having a stadium that’s welcoming. I also have been to enough games to know Panther fans give as good as they get, over all.

Is absurd....other teams always walk around like it's their house and I'm sick of seeing a conservative 20% of opposing fans in our stadium , cheering and chanting or whatever. I wish we we were like other stadiums where opposing team fans were sketched out to even wear a shirt of the visiting team.

Do you ever think we get to that point or are we always gonna have a welcome mat for other teams?

I'm just going to venture that maybe we win more games and have a team to rally behind rather than just become a bunch of battery-throwing, parking lot brawling assholes.

But hey, if that's what you want, you be you.

Tbh, BOA is a shitshow anyways. Every time I've gone there's been redneck brawls in the bathroom, concessions, and in the seats. And I'm talking Panther fan-on-Panther fan offenses. We are our own worst enemy. We might as well move the team to Gastonia at this point

I’ve been to 90% of home games since 2001

twice I’ve seen what you describe happen in the stands. Twice

if people can’t control themselves in a bathroom, that’s on the people, not the stadium

    • Miles Bridges Speaks on Future with Hornets   “It’s still the same,” Bridges responded when asked about his upcoming free agency. “I would love to be here. It’s my plan to be here. I love the city of Charlotte. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. I grew up here. I’ve been here since I was 20. I’ve been through a lot here and the Hornets stayed down on me when they didn’t have to. It’s like a family to me here. My mom loves it here, my family loves it here. It’s home to me. “You don’t see too many people finishing their careers (where they started). Steph (Curry) he’s kind of been that model player for this generation. A lot of people be moving teams and moving around. I don’t want to do that. I want to be like Step, Kobe, and Dirk in that type of way - staying with a team and winning with a team.”
